It is spec'd for the fill plug for the GT350 transmission, but it is not for the differential. Like I said, there is no pressure on the fluid and the fluid is supposed to be filled to 9mm below the fill hole, so I see no reason to need this. If you still want to use a thread sealer on the fill hole plug and wanted to keep it "Ford", TA-24-B is what I would use.

I dont think I use anything on that plug.
Thank you. Yeah I will just undo the clip and remove the line so I don't have to touch the threaded portion. As far as the fill plug goes, I think I will just re-use it without any sealant.

Yes, that is how it is supposed to be done. Pull the clip, drain the fluid, and reinstall. Open the fill plug and put exactly as much fluid back in as what you drained out. Otherwise, you have to fill to 9mm below the drain plug and thats a pain in the ass. The best way to do it is to measure exactly what came out and replace with that exact same quantity.

Okay so looks like only 1 L came out, which is about half of what should be in there. I don't see any leaks anywhere. So now the question is do I refill with just the 1L or the 56 oz mentioned before, or do I do the 9 mm below fill hole method?

Also if I'm only putting in half the fluid back in, do I put in half the friction modifier to keep the ratio the same?

Well I ended up having to dipstick it. Pain in the ass but just around 1.6 L went in before 9mm below fill hole was achieved. I guess my diff was just low from factory. I didn't see evidence of leaks anywhere.

Well it's good that you have the right level now. 1.6 liters is 54 ounces, and the fill I use is 52 ounces of oil and 4 ounces of friction modifier to get the right level.
