Sync 3 Waze Question

For Sync 3 is Waze not a part of Android Auto? Two of the more recent cars I've owned (2016 Civic and a 2019 CX-5) allowed me to launch Waze as an app inside of Android Auto similar to Google maps or Spotify or any of the other ones. I tried to do that today with my 2018 Mustang and Waze wasn't an option within the AA interface.

Looking online it seems that Waze is an app that I need to download with Sync and launch it from the Sync menu? Is that true.

NVM, I checked again when I got home and Waze is now available in the AA menu.
