So 2020 mustang gt with sync 3 touch screen.

While I'm on the phone via Bluetooth, the screen randomly presses the "private" button which is located on the top middle section of the screen. So everytime I'm on a phone call it presses itself multiple times causing the phone call to go from car speakers to just the phone speaker. Over and over.

Thought it was just my phone some how but nope !

While driving with just the AC on and no phone calls, the screen presses that exact same spot and turns off the AC with the "AC power button"

What is going on with my screen ?!?! Anyone have any insight?

Sounds like the touch sensitive layer inside the screen has a short circuit. Nothing you can fix. Get it replaced under warranty.

I noticed my wife had problems with her jeep capacitive touch screen when she would wipe it down with a microfiber towel (dry) to get dust off. I’m guessing it would build up a static charge on the screen and it would randomly “press” buttons on the screen for a while after she did this. She wasn’t making the connection that it happened right after wiping it down. After about 20 mins or so, it would act normal.

It’s probably a bad screen though it this case.
