Corvette with N/A mods shouldn't be that much risk. Particularly if it passes compression and leak down testing and the car hasn't been crashed. If it comes with receipts, that is better than average.

OP could probably buy this, keep it for a year or two and sell it again for not that much less than purchase price. Maybe something breaks, maybe not. How much is an LS3 small block or a transmission rebuild? That engine may be good for 530+ hp N/A. Good power to weight.

Yeah, I was thinking for 27k, depending on options, you might find a new GT somewhere around that price rather than a used with 7k miles.
I bought my 2016 Mustang GT brand new for $27,400 during the summer. With that said, if I could have bought a base Camaro 1SS for $29,999 during that time, I would have purchased the 2016 Camaro instead of the Mustang. The Camaro's hadn't come down in price yet like they have the past 3 months. With that said, I'm 100% content with my purchase of the Mustang GT and love the look of the car. I like both cars.

So about a month ago my ZL1 was totaled....which means its time for a new toy. I've narrowed it down to either a c6 Grand sport (No Z06 cause I want an auto), a 6 gen Camaro SS(please don't be biased), and dare I say it a 6 gen mustang GT (once again please don't be biased.
Maybe something like this would be of interest to you. Phase 1 will give you 670 HP and a factory warranty.

Hey D_money,
I'm from the Dayton area too. I've been in talks with Lebanon Ford. Best guys.

I've also talked to someone in this forum who purchased a 727 hp mustang. They are very happy. But it looks like it may be a little more than you are looking to spend?

I plan on ordering mine around March first.

If you get a mustang lefty mind know and maybe we can setup a Dayton meet... Or Nell even if you don't :)

Either way good luck!

I actually live in Dayton Texas but thanks for all the help guys. Just an update on the situation, I drove a stock 12 C6 GS yesterday and a 2016 GT yesterday as well. Loved the looks and loved the power they both possessed but I couldn't get over the mustang. It was white with blacked out tail lights and tinted headlights and fogs. However after reading on the whole Lebanon deal....I just contacted them and we shall what happends from there.

I'm not a Corvette fan so that choice would be out for me. Between the Camaro and the Mustang, it would be a toss up. I've driven a 16 Camaro SS and it feels more powerful than the current generation Mustang GT.

I'm still on the fence about the looks of the Camaro so for me the Mustang would probably win there even though I'm not crazy about the looks of the current generation.

On the Camaro I drove, it had the automatic and that 8 speed seemed to want to hunt for the correct gear so at the moment, I like the 6 speed auto in the Mustang a little better.

I guess you just have to decide which car has the most pro's vs the negatives.

Who were you in contact with? I've called and emailed and I can't seem to get in touch with anyone.

Is your definition of "weekend warrior" for "track days?" or "Mexico?"
Personally I'd go with the Grand Sport. It is arguably the best trim/packaging offered for Corvette in my opinion, but it is already modified and I'm not sure if it'll fit your taste.
You may enjoy buying a Mustang GT and modifying it to be unique. Apparently some folks enjoy that kind of activities.:ford:

keep in mind that with the 727 hp, you won't get power train warranty. And with the 670 hp, you will get a limited Roush power train warranty. Not the Ford warranty. I think they cover around $10k. So they will insure roughly one engine failure and then its on you.

I went and test drove another 12 Grand sport and I think I'm gonna go with that. Got the price down to 35k with 14k miles on it. And is bone stock.....for now. After driving the mustang I just felt like there was a night and day difference between the two. The GS reminded me of driving the Z as far sticking you in the seat and the low to the ground feel. Not certain yet but that's the way I'm leaving. Should know by the end of this week. I wanna thank all of y'all for the input. I put the same question in the vette forums and camaro one and let's just say they weren't near as helpful as you guys.

I wonder how long that engine will last for. Seems strange to me to slap on a supercharger that almost doubles the power without doing more extensive cooling mods. Also how much power can the stock pistons take long term?
Hellcats make 707hp stock, and I think they run fine

If I got the 670hp version and didn't drive like an idiot, I'd be pretty confident in the motor.

It will be hard to beat the Vette in P/W ratio, at least for N/A. Although Mustang and Camaro most likely have better safety cages if you are concerned about that sort of stuff. Both have been tested by IIHS.
