Ken at PBD? Lund has a great tune for these TVS cars. I was amazed how he had mine running with nothing but some exhaust. I was always being accused of running a smaller pulley than stated or pulling weight out of the car lol. BTW the nGauge is awesome!

Not Ken, Sean Bosco at PBD is who I've been exchanging emails with. I'm guessing he's wrong from all of the responses here. Given the fact he works there and I seem to recall reading there are later versions of the X3 that have reportedly worked on the S550 I was hoping to save some money and not buy a new tuner.

Thanks for the feedback!

I realize this thread is a bit dated but glad it got bumped up again so I could read it.

Lund has been great for me, tune and support wise. Although they refuse to tune for meth injection which I may be adding in the future, so I will be looking at other options. Their refusal to tune for it on the basis that the meth could fail kind of pisses me off. Lots of things can fail in a car, and im going with a failsafe for the meth. Why cant I sign a waiver that im taking my life in my own hands and get them to tune it?? Lol, Oh well.

Meth kits fail, I've seen plenty fail quite a bit in the Evo/ ST world. With that said, there are too many instances I've personally seen customers go after the tuners even when the fault blatantly falls on the customer. If the failure rate wasnt as high as I've seen with meth I'd 100% understand your side. Whats your current setup?

Yeah I would never go after the tuner, not a well known one. My trans just went on me, im not going to go after Lund since they raised the pressures, etc. lol

My current setup is in my sig, plus a wastegate going in soon.

I guess you're right, In my opinion though im going as safe as possible though. If i go through with it I'll be using Alky Control, which uses "real" braided lines instead of push-in nylon lines, and supposedly better quality pump, etc. Then I'll be tapping the intake manifold and putting an IAT sensor there. That way, the IAT sensor is after the meth nozzle and timing can be pulled as soon as IATs go up from no meth. Doesn't get any safer than that I think.

Lund themselves told me I'm on the edge of 93 wastegating @12psi. Since E85 isnt an option in my area, meth seems to be a good solution for more octane and some engine/detonation safety.

I have no experience with PBD but I have Lund tuning my paxton setup now and drivability is perfect. It fired right up and idled great on base tune. I think the car will be fast when this damn weather cools down. My only complaint is not being able to talk to them on the phone. Lund was getting me my revisions within a day. Usually only a few business hours.

Depending on how much you drive the car, have you considered an octane booster like Octanium? I don’t drive my car a whole lot so I keep a couple cases at the house and run that all the time. The cost would add up if you drive a lot but it was a fairly cheap way for me to be able to run slightly more boost than 93 would allow.

I do have Torco and a tune for it. I drive alot though, I've had my car since Feb 18th 2017 and it already has 13k miles  Torco is a little too expensive for me to be putting in every tank. It also only gives me an extra 1 degree of timing, so not much of a difference really. Gained less than 15hp from it on the dyno if i remember right, cant feel any difference driving.

Some people run 20-22 degrees on meth so thats a bit more intriguing. :D Plus I like it for the detonation and engine safety advantages too. Also wont have to worry about a bad tank of gas.
