I looked into that already as well and was quoted $600 lol. I don't mind wrenching on my car to save some $$ and KNOWING exactly how things were done etc too.
I might ask a welder friend if he can do it for me. I really don't want to have to do headers, and then after 5 years remove and reinstall them for smog every other year.

3" all the Baby

Okay my leads came in...BIG shout out to TEAM BEEFCAKE thanks! So time to get this thing done. You'll see where I cut off the reduced portion of my MBRP cat-back system, then mock up the lead with cat eliminator, at this point you can see we're ever so close, this is where the extra piece of pipe comes in. I hold the pipe to be cut up to the gap and mark where to cut, I use a tie wrap as a guide when cutting, I'm 1,400 miles from my shop so equipment is limited, I use a C clamp and garage door track as a pipe vise for cutting. Remember to put relief cuts into the expanded portion of the pipe (if it doesn't have any), this is what lets the exhaust clamp tighten down the pipe to the other pipe. I will finish up tomorrow, and then a trip to the track. The track I usually run at 131 MSP in Martin Michigan is not available this weekend, so I'll be running at Osceola in Indiana. Once I get back home I'll do some welding so that there's not so many clamps.

Ready to Rock

3" all the way...done! I also posted some wire routing pics. And earlier I listed the wrong size Torx for the steering column, the correct size is a T40. BIG THANKS to Team Beefcake for great customer service, and Stainless Works for a quality product and to both for working with me on getting the right parts for this somewhat custom job. :headbang: Now if the weather to holds out I can give you guys the results in the 1/4 mile. BTW I ordered a Schumacher battery maintainer, because Schumacher supports Drag Racing. Very important to have plenty of juice when down or uploading tunes....and remember don't touch the plug going to the OBD port, as you will wipe your cars processor clean....not good.

It's definitely loud when you're in the throttle hard. I'm running MBRP catback street with an H. In the Fox bodies I loved an X, I think either are great with a Coyote. When you're cruising around or at a steady speed it's not too loud at all, I now tend to hold it in a lower gear to let everybody know the New FORD Mustang has arrived and ready to do battle!

I know it might be kinda far away and it's a holiday, but I'll be running at 131 Dragway in Martin Mi. tonight from 6-10.

No drone at all, I come from the days of two chamber Flow Masters and turn downs....now that's drone! With the VCT at cruise speed you hardly hear the exhaust at all. Now in the morning or first start up the fast idle will definitely upset the neighbors, but once fast idle goes away the car is quiet. I'm at an apartment (while working away from home) I no longer back my car in so the exhaust isn't facing the building for startup.

Wow, great thread, on the fence on long tubes vs. cat delete, my car is more of a street bruiser/cruiser. But great info

I agree, cat delete sounds best for you. Plus you can always sell those down the road if you decide to go long tubes if you change direction.
