I just don't like the idea of having cross winds and the forces put on the glass and seal/glue and the front cups small foot print flexing the roof skin.
Then the hurt it do if the bike mounting cups let go and the bike is now air born heading toward the vehicles behind me.
Having had someones camping gear end up on my lap on the highway, I would not personally use something like this. But I tend to be a worry wart because of that. so take it for what it is worth.

Hitch rack is where it's at. I can see using the Sea Sucker for road bikes, they're lighter and relatively clean compared to a mountain bike. No way I'm having my filthy bike hovering over the paint!
Yes, that's an excellent option. As far as I know, there are even options available for 3 bikes. I wonder what their weight limit is? Bikes also come in different varieties(for example how it can be - https://www.bikethesites.com/mountain-bike-vs-road-bike/ ). It's also worth considering that the weight from the mounting point acts as a lever.

OMG, you drilled holes in your car to mount a hitch? The horror.😆

No holes drilled, they exist in the subframe. You pull bolts with washers thru frame and out proper holes then attach hitch. Super easy if you have access to a lift, only have to drop exhaust via unbolting the muffler hangers and let it droop enough to get your hands in place.

You are limited to 1 1/4" receiver so two bikes max. I come close to tongue weight with the rack and two 35 lb fat bikes on the back.
