After warming up the car and going for a short easy drive if I stop at a light sometimes the idle drops and then recovers. Is this normal? I’ve seen some saying this is ok but nothing definitive. It’s a gen 2 built in 2022.

It is probably related to your AC compressor kicking on. Mine does the same thing and has since new.

But if the a/c isn’t turned on I don’t think that would make it stumble.

VCT solenoids I think. I had this a long time ago.
Thank you. That sounded to be very frustrating. Mine isn’t stumbling to a point of stalling and there aren’t any codes. It basically drops a few rpms and goes back up. I’ll bring your cause up to the dealer. Mines a Gen 2 so hopefully it’s nothing significant.

2017 as well. My understanding is that when they replaced it with a Gen 2 they reuse some of the upper parts of the Gen 1 so possibly it’s some quirk of the 2017.

So I had this issue with a different Ford car and it ended up being the Purge Valve. Mine would always do it after I got gas. It felt like the car was going stall out on it's own and like I lifted half way off the clutch and then pushed it back in real quick.

As for the VCT solenoids. I had that issue as well on the GT350. This is a good video of how bad the idle was for me in the GT350 and how the car would start huffing. Just so you know no one was hitting the gas at the end. I hope this helps.

Both fixes were relatively inexpensive.

Side note -- also check to sure your air filter is tight to the throttle body as well.
