Went to back the car out yesterday. I put it in R and when i let the brake out the car wouldn't move so i gave it more gas and it finally let out a "bang" and moved. When ever i come to a stop and im lightly on the brake i can hear a "click click click" that matches the
wheel speed.

Last week i backed the car out and washed it then pulled it back in until i went to drive it and this happen.

Your brakes rusted to the rotors most likely. Happened to me once after a wash and put away. My car wouldn't budge. Sprayed some water on the pads, and it freed it right up

Now whenever I wash, I take it for a quick loop around the neighborhood before she goes back into the garage

I've had this happen to my Tacoma in the past. Basically, your pads have rusted to the discs.

To prevent that from occurring, after washing (or rain), I lightly ride my breaks as I bring it into the garage

As an alternative, I pump the breaks a few times before moving; this seems to loosen things up.

It does sound horrible if you just go for it. Huge "clunk". Done that once or twice by mistake, but not any more.

Should i be worried about the clicking or is that just from a slight ridge that will wear away from use ?

My initial thought is, "no.", it's not an issue. But you can always post a pic when you have a moment for members to review.

My experience, the issue has always been minimal. After several minutes of driving, all the surface rust has been removed.

I would not expect your discs to be completely smooth/slick (someone please correct me if I am wrong). Using my truck as a reference, I have the slightest of ridges (you can tell more by feel than looking) across the face, from general wear and tear. They get cleaned up when I have new pads installed and the discs are resurfaced. High-end (nice) brake systems might wear and look different.

Parking lots seem like a good place to see how things look relative to your setup. I'd think you could quickly find a like system to review and compare.

I agree with @Skye,. You should be fine. Take it for a quick run up the road and back. If the tick disappears your good to go. If it's still ticking after that take a closer look to see what's goin on. If you can isolate which wheel it is that would make things easier.

Oh btw for future reference. I just happened to have a spray bottle of distilled water right in the garage so used that. I didn't need to soak it with a garden hose or anything to get it freed up.

Good luck though hopefully your good to go

I don’t apply the parking brake after a wash, and haven’t had that problem. I did, once, and that’s when I stopped applying the parking brake after a wash.

It wasn't the parking brake, it was the reg brakes.

The clicking when braking after they stuck is what has me worried.

I have new z23 pads to put on, will the z23 pads still stick like oem?

Yeah pads won't make a difference. They'll still bind if wet after washing. I usually just move forwards and backwards on the driveway a few times to clear any water away after washing.

The clicking when applying the brakes matching wheel speed - I wonder - could be something stuck between the pad and the disc surface. Have you tried a bit of a forceful stop and see if it clears. Or failing that, see if the sound goes once you swap out the pads.

You haven't picked up a stone stuck in your tyre tread by any chance have you? that can make a clicking sound when driving although it would be all the time not just when braking.

It might take a few miles of driving to get that to go away- it’s the rust embedded in the rotors where the pads were when it was wet.

I have z-23's on the back, 26's on the front. Never have they stuck. I do have a love hate relationship with them. I love the lack of dust, I hate the lack of initial bite. They do get grabby when wet.
