Hey guys, I’m new to this forum and didn’t really know where to post this, but I have a 04 40th anniversary 3.9L v6 thats having a strange charging issue. The battery light came on and I figured out the battery was at 12.2 volts with the car off. But running, the alternator was only putting out 10 volts. So I put a reman alternator on it, and got 14.3 volts running, and the battery light shut off. A week later, the light came back on and I started loosing voltage on my gauge again. The battery was still at 12.2, but the new alternator is now reading 11.1. So I took it back under warranty, and put a second one on. Two weeks later, here I am with a light on AGAIN and the second alternator is now reading 10.9 running, and the battery has now started dropping to about 11.8, but when the battery sits for about a minute, it goes back up to 11.99. Any ideas of what the problem could be?

I would get the battery checked out at a Pep Boys or somewhere, you need it load tested. Old batteries can kill an alternator. Also check all the connections, clean the hell out of them, especially the grounds. I had a similar issue on my focus, it was a negative ground with all kinds of corrosion.
