I,'ve decided to purchase Steeda tunes, but still not sure of the open or closed air filter system. Some people have said the factory box is the better way to go. Have been looking at the Corsa CAI kit because it's a closed system, but can't find any specs on powerwise on it and you hear about water getting in thru the heat extractors. Would like to hear what you all think, Thanks in advance.

I'm running the stock airbox with drop in K&N, Mishimoto Intake Tube, & Velossa tech big mouth that forces air into the box. Seems to work well.

Was thinking of just changing the intake tube, still on the table. Thanks for the input.

This but with an aFE filter. Works great. The tube gives some pretty good gains in the midrange.

Another member of the club: AEM dry drop-in filter, Mishimoto intake tube, Velossa Tech air ram ducts - plus removed the carbon/filter packet in the OEM box.

- improved power (especially with a tune)
- better throttle response
- much cleaner, better looking engine bay (the "sound tube" is an abomination)
- perfect fitment
- no concern over water
- reduced IATs

Without the Velossa Tech ducts, I scored my Mishimoto and AEM filter for ~$175.

I got a roush cai for a deal so went that route. While moving 20 mph+ the IAT is 3 degrees over ambient consistently. If it sits after driving then i'll get 30-40 degrees over ambient but it drops very quick once I get moving. Factory was 5-7 degrees over ambient but looked horrid with that sound tube . No issues with rain or washing the car.

So many ways to go. Was looking at steeda CAI with tuner combo from Steeda. That why I appreciate everyone's input.

Steeda Wont Tune Corsa

I had a Corsa CAI and I loved it running with the stock tune. def colder air temps than the open filter Steeda CAI I am running now. The only reason I switched was because Steeda would not tune the Corsa CAI.

If I could do it all over again I would run a JLT or PMAS CAI and get a Lund Flex tune. I am moving soon and Steeda wont remote tune a flex set up, and Lund tends to have a lot more options as far as aftermarket parts that they have already tuned before.

I dont like the Steeda CAI, the attachments for the other small tubes on the intake tube are poorly designed and I have had them pop off before. The Corsa CAI had everything molded in one piece and was a better fit/finish.

I went with the Steeda one originally, but ended up swapping to Airaid with the closed box and feeding into it with the Velossatech Big Mouth. Several 100 degree days here in the summer. Temps aren't getting crazy high with the closed box like they do open box. I don't get stuck in traffic often, but I do sit at stop lights.

Steeda will release a close box CAI soon. I'd go with that.

Otherwise, the only open element CAI I'm interested in is the GT350 one with a filter upgrade, which is what I have. I don't like any of the rest.

Yeah I heard about that. I may just go with the tune and wait for the close box design. Still weighing in my options.

You actually answered one of the questions I was going to ask about. On steeda's tune form, I didn't see an option for the Corsa kit.
