Stereo base 4.3" head unit upgrade: Ideas? Plans?***

So, I was thinking.
Don't the knobs just pull off? They can't be a part of the switch or whatever behind them. Would make since to make an extension for the knobs and buttons, as you said, if the CB has to be moved back. Just a random thought. I haven't tried to pull mine off yet. May tomorrow though.

I have never tired to pull the knobs off either but they should be able to be removed. I don't see any other way they could do a design like that.

I'm anxious to get it but a tad nervios about the install and what I may be in for.
If they do come off, maybe this will help you with your design of the full bezel. Could space it back more and make it look more OEM.
I dislike the EBay one after seeing the pictures, the wording is horrible and several miss spelled words.

It could but that would also require a complete redesign of the back cover. That back cover holds the 4 clips used as the main mounting of the bezel. The top and bottom screws do the trick but I would prefer to leave the clips as well.

I'm assuming their design has no prevision for the rear panel and thus no clips.

But in short no it won't.

See his thread on swapping to MFT. There is a list of items needed as well as a nice write up.

I'm curious as to if a premium bezel could be modified to work with manual climate controls and just have an extra toggle though. I've though about this as well.

There would be blank spaces on the ac controls, where the premium aluminum dials are, but always felt thoses could be filled in.

An update: I just saw that my ebay order was shipped on 09/26 via UPS, ordered on 09/17. Very surprised I thought they would never ship it. Estimate delivery is 10/01 and will update after receiving it!

All three of my ordered said they where shipped. One even even a tracking number for, that turned out to be BS.

Again... Really hope for you to get it. My unit from Focus is shipping tomorrow. They sent me the picture of it in hand...

Thanks! Maybe I'm just another one got tricked by those sellers..lets' see what happens with that package being tracked. Congrats on your unit. I also like it but just too expensive for me.

Really interested in seeing how your kit works! I wonder if they would be interested in selling just the bezel and no electronic hardware... Depending on the design I might just be able to adapt it for MFT installs.

One thing I did learn from talking to them. The toggles don't "toggle" they push like the originals. I'm hoping you (zackmd1) can figure something out or me...

Yes.
What the service is used does is ask any questions I may have, purchase the item. check that it's the quality I want and is complete. Send me whatever pics I want. Rebox and ship.they pickup up yesterday...well, today. And will now ship. They get a % commission. But felt safer this way. $ stays in escrow with Alipay until I receive. So they work fast. Not sure how that works with the seller...
