I've been at it for a week now trying to get my steering wheel trim removed from my 15 S550. No luck thus far. Needless to say its super frustrating. Has anyone else taken these off for any reasoning and can provide some insight on how to do so? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance!

Not sure why you would take this off?

I'm hating the highly reflective silver as well.... Much better now that my windows are tinted, but I am with you on this one. Want those surfaces gone.

Id rather them be black on my magnetic, the same as the chrome shifter trim and AC vent bezels. I would deff paint them to match the car if I had race red, orange, yellow, white, etc.

I HATE chrome on cars, interior or exterior. Its such old styling, I have no idea why manufactures still do it

I'd definitely vinyl wrap the trim pieces (vents, around shifter, on the wheel etc) than paint. Pop them off and wrap yourself with a knife and hairdryer/heatgun, they're very small pieces and can't be that hard. When ready to sell the car just peel them off and back to stock (and not scuffed up form being protected too).

I too hate the mirror chrome on the vents/shifter/gauge bezels. It clashes with everything else in the interior as everything else is a brushed/satin aluminum look.

You have to remove the airbag. The trim pieces are all screwed on to the frame of the wheel.

Behind the airbag on the steering wheel itself there are 2 holes in the 3/9 oclock positions. Insert something small (like a hex key) to push on the clips holding the airbag in.

It took me no more than 30 seconds to remove my airbag.
