yea with the 21mm bolts loose i could get the braces lined up but once i torqued the 21mm down to spec the braces would no longer line up so i think the subframe would shift during the torque process, i wanted to leave the subframe loose and install the brace first but cant get a socket on with the brace installed unless i can find a crows foot

If you have the subframe alignment kit in there, the subframe can't go very far.

Also, get all of the bolts on the braces started before you tighten anything down.

yea thats what steeda suggested so hopefully with the subframe alignment kit installed ill be able to get the braces lined up and i can be done with the subframe for good. otherwise ive wasted money if it doesnt work

i couldnt even get them all started with my subframe torqued. it seemed like the subframe was about 1/4 too far forward.

Yeah, I had that problem with one of the braces with the subframe snug even after doing the alignment kit. Just get the subframe loose, get the brace hardware started, torque down the subframe, then tighten and torque the brace.

dang they told me the alignment kit would make the braces line up. so you kept your brace loosely installed while you torqued down yhe subframe? you were able to get a socket on there with the brace there?

On the passenger side, I had a heck of a time getting the brace to line up especially in the middle bolt, but no clearance issues with the socket for subframe bolt. On the drivers side, I got the brace to line up easily but had to keep the brace loose (all three bolts started though) to allow clearance for the socket to torque down the subframe bolt. Hope that helps.

i ended up just ordering a crowsfoot too just incase i cant get a socket on there with the brace installed.

Hey guys, all four subframe bolts need to be loosened in order to align the subframe to the car - you can't line it up if part of it is still rigid mounted.

I installed these on my car no problem, the instructions that are included provide a pretty good depiction. Thats typically where I'd go first for clarification.

It tells you to loosen the rears up and remove the fronts completely.

so i got around to this and of course there is one that wont line up, and it is on the front, the rears were easy with a pry bar. on my drivers side the 21mm hex bolt wont go in. about 2 turns in it just wants to stop. even with the rear subframe completely out and no bushing it stops at the same spot. even with the torque wrench is really tough to turn and is about 80% in. im probably gonna end up at a shop like the OP. thing is i have to drive to arizona in a couple of days and only 3 of the 4 subframe bolts are torqued and i dont know if i can get a shop to fix this before then. i really doubt that bolt is going anywhere but im really hoping the threads in the subframe itself are not damaged.
