So, I've been chasing a rear end swaying issue for for about 2 months. At first, I thought my rear lower control arm bushings were shot, along with my toe link bushings. I had them replaced with spherical bearings and it didn't help. Today, I decided to pull my rear shocks off since it's easy. What I found is my passenger rear only rebounds halfway. It'll get about halfway through the rebound and just stops. So I tried the driver side, and it rebounds all the way. The passenger side is a good 1-2 inches short of reaching the mounting holes on the body. The driver side I had to compress a little to get it under the alignment tabs. I have probably about 30-35k miles on my set of shocks. Also, the coating on the lower mounting point is cracked and falling off.

Ordered a new set of non adjustable since I never messed with the adjustment after the initial install, only to find out they were out of stock for 2 weeks. Steeda-Sergio messaged me and said they would sell me a new set at a discounted price since shocks are a wear item, and when he found out they were out of stock, he upgraded me to the adjustable shocks I currently have at no additional cost. Very happy with Steeda's customer service.

What do you mean by swaying? Shocks might not be the answer.
Agreed. Unexpected or uncontrolled swaying is sometimes a rear hub or other joint failure. Sway cause or not sounds like that shock is definitely blown. FWIW, that model of shock should be expected to fail a bit often, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Shocks are a wear item. You can drive cheap average shocks which dont fail much (but dont impress), cheap and good shocks which fail often (Steeda adjustables in this case), or expensive good shocks which require expensive service every year or two. Pick your poison.

Just finished installing new rear shocks and rear lower spring insulators(have a horrible groan when the suspension loads/unloads). Car drives better, but still has the weird feeling in the rear when slowly steering back and forth. Still has the groan too, so it's something else.

Developed a new noise in the right rear yesterday. Jacked my car up this morning and checked the toe link bolts and camber arm bolts. Passenger rear camber arms outer bolt was really loose. I could slide the washer back and forth over the bolt with the space between the spherical joint and bolt head. Torqued it back to spec and checked the outer toe link bolt on the same side, and it was a little loose, maybe 10-20 ft pounds.

The new noise is gone, but I still have a groaning when the suspension loads/unloads. Probably a bushing is worn out, or needs greased. I should of checked those bolts when I replaced the shocks earlier this week. This also fixed the loose feeling in the rear when steering back and forth rapidly. Anyway, I feel like a complete idiot.
