I recently installed just about every suspension component Steeda sells on my 2019 pp1 mustang and I am extremely happy with the performane. (FYI customer service is probably one of the best out there) However, I have a rattle/thud in front suspension when I hit bumps but not all the time. The set up is progressive lowering springs, pro action adjustable shocks, camber plates, sway bars, steering bump kit, front rear control arm with lower ball joint and end links. (I have a bunch of Steeda parts on it as well.) so after reading some post about other members having similar problem, here is the approach I took. I thought the rubber spring insulator was a little off so I pulled everything apart replaced it put everything back together still getting noise. Next I replaced strut nut, installed new lock washer and applied blue lock tite. Note I installed but with impact gun. I tried torquing this utilizing the specific sockets that have the window in them but the 11 mm wrench does not properly fit the strut stem hex. It is extremely sloppy fit and the wrench eventually slipped rounding the hex. After replacing but still have noise. Called Steeda told Brian what I did he said check end links. I actually pulled end links off and ball joints felt like they had too much play. (FYI only have 200 miles on this set up) I was looking at other end links for hell of it as I really like heim joints. Found Eibach made a pair. Ordered them installed took for ride seemed better. After about 20 miles staring to hear again. Note in Steeda end links like the strut the 11mm wrench rounds the stem when try to torque them. Another reasoned I like Eibach as a 12mm bolts is used to install them and can be properly torqued. At this point just very frustrated and wondering if others here ever found there probalem. FYI I do live in Long Island my and the roads suck. Is it just the noise of the strut? Is it bottoming out? Is the spring slights coming off rubber inslulator? Again Steeda performance has been great, car handles awesome. Any suggestions? Thanks

Did you cut down and shorten the bump stops on the front struts? Not the spring rest but the one on the shaft with the dust boot.

Probably the right one then but it was worth a shot. Out of curiosity have you tried adjusting the shock to a stiffer setting and see if the noise changes? The harder blue bump stops can make a bit of a knock on a real hard hit at least in the rear in my experience on a softer shock.

I've failed to fully tighten one of the 3 upper shock mount nuts in the past and had an intermittent rattle knock due to it as well. Hope you can sort it out.

I had my springs, dampers and caster/camber plates installed at a speed shop that specializes in Mustangs. When they were done they noticed a rattle in the front right side. After a couple hours of checking and re-torquing everything and decided it must be a defective caster/camber plate or a bad strut. To make a long story short it was a bad strut. Once they had it off to replace it you could shake it and hear the rattle.

Vic thanks for response I have a feeling it is going to be a bad strut.... just really sucks as I have had front end apart a hundred times but at this point only think that wasn’t changed or checked thanks again

I did have an experience with a koni adjuster getting stuck when left too far soft. On those your supposed to hit the stop and then take them back a bit, I just didn't go far enough the other way. A little cave man action got it working again but any piece of mind was pretty much lost. I'd just talk to Steeda...
