Steeda H Pipe Void Exhaust Warranty?

Hey guys,

I have a 2020 Mustang GT with a resonator delete (Steeda H pipe). I have a sneaky suspicion my cats are going.... my exhaust smells like rotten eggs when I "get on it" (it's never thrown a code, but can't think of what else it would be?) I have one last season before my 5 year warranty expires and want to take the car in to get the cats looked at. But I'm worried they're going to deny warranty due to the H pipe.

Does anyone know if that's the case or not? FYI, the car only has 13,000km on it.

Any modification to the exhaust (headers to tails) will cause a Dealership to possibly flag or deny exhaust repairs “under warranty”. You removed a factory component and replaced it with aftermarket, therefore the factory exhaust warranty (8 years/80k miles, whichever comes first) would no longer apply.

Is the Steeda part associated with the cats possibly failing or for the smell, most likely not because its downstream… BUT the Service Center can say the exhaust was modified and the repair cost will be on you.

If you’re going to take it in, swap the stock exhaust back in (if feasible).

The Exhaust resonator can't be swapped back in, as the stock exhaust is cut to accomdatoe the H pipe. I could put the resonator back on, but there would be clamps now holding it in place, similar to that of the H pipe. So they'll know it's been tampered with

Best you can do at this stage is either schedule the appt., take it in “as is” and see what happens OR call a random Ford Service Center, explain the situation and ask if they will they deny a warranty repair since the factory H has since been modified.

Only other option I guess would be buy a used take off factory H… install it and then make appointment.

Google AI is telling me Ford can't deny my warranty for a resonator delete unless they can prove the H pipe is the cause of the issue... I'll call my dealer and see where things go

Hi I know this doesn't really have anything to do with your post but I have a question on a similar topic. I have a set of brand new kooks off Rd headers with connectors gaskets everything to install. I acquired them on a trade n want to sell them. What is a reasonable price that I should ask for them or how much are they worth
