Hey Guys,

Looking for some tips to help install the Steeda G trac brace onto my 2021.

I've has some input from Steeda to date, but I still can't manage to get it to install. My problem is that no matter how I line it up or start the bolts (tried all four corners) the last two do not line up. I have tried (and failed) to pull the brace into place, but it is so stiff I can't do that and slot in the bolts. I did tape the spacers onto the front mounts to prevent them from falling into the chassis. Attaching pictures of where I start in the back (first) and when I start in the front (second). While it doesn't appear to be much to get these to line up, there is just no play. Frustrated!

Thanks, James

When I installed mine, I found that I absolutely needed to start with the front. IIRC, There is a bit of an angle to them, so I think I snugged them up pretty close to final tightness before moving to the rears. That pulls the brace a little more forward than if you just let it hang on fully loose bolts.

Again, it's been a while, but pretty sure that with the right side lined up the left needed a bit of persuading. Nothing I couldn't do by hand tho, so it couldn't have been off by all that much.

Good luck. It took a bit of trial and error for me too, but definitely think it's worth it.

I remember doing something similar when I installed mine.

Thanks guys. I recall trying that before, but the rear jams up against the frame (second pic) to the point where I can't screw in the front mounts enough to secure them. That said, I'll try again with a fresh look at it.

Try making an angle cut on the front tubes about 2” back from the mounting holes, flip the cut pieces over (to change the angle and allow them to line up properly with the holes in the k-member) and then have a good machine shop weld the pieces back together.

I ran into similar issues but my brace was contacting my headers which resulted in the front being impossible to line up. I picked up a few rear spacers from steeda and was able to wrestle it into place.

So I did it... f, yeah. lol

Did the driver side front mount first, the brace was at a completely weird angle.
The driver side rear slotted in once I screwed in the front.
The passenger side front and rear where then completely off and low.
In order to get the front passenger in place, I need to pull like crazy with a screwdriver on the rear to get that lined up.
Screwed in the front passenger side.
The rear passenger side was in place but the hole didn't line up. I pulled it down with a mallet so it was still place but low enough to reduce the angle. Pushed the bolt through. Need to give both rear sides a good whack with the mallet and it fits.

Thanks for the tips...

James
