Car is a 2020 Mustang GT premium.

Probably a silly question, but I’m trying to learn some basic maintenance by myself instead of always going to the dealer.

So I just cleaned and oiled my panel filter for my Steeda PROflow intake and I’ve heard that you don’t want to oil the side that faces the part that goes into the engine. Judging by this picture, it looks like the air comes in from the bottom of the filter.

Did I oil the wrong side? I don’t want to put this into the car if I’m going to break or damage something by accident. Lol

additionally, how much oil should I be putting on this thing? I’ve searched everywhere online and there seems to be no information anywhere on it.

It might be the "wrong side" but as long as it's very dry you're likely fine since the oil soaks through the pleats either way.

The only time I've seen MAF issues is either people putting on TONS of oil or not letting the filter fully dry before driving with it. I personally do my filter in the AM then don't put it back in my car till end of day just to make sure its fully dry. I personally haven't had a problem with oil filters doing that in my 24yrs of using them

Yeah, I used about 70 grams total. I think that isn’t too much.
