TYRE PRESSURE ADVICE.
The reason we say pump up the tyres very high pressure is PURELY to protect your tyres (and potentially rims!) as the first event high speed bend can mean a LOT of load on the side wall, rolling the tyres over if the pressure is too low.
The actual track bits later on is less of an issue, but you can imagine a heavy mustang going sideways at 80mph can put some pressure on the tyres sidewalls! It's best to keep the tread in contact with the ground and NOT the sidewalls....
