  1. Couple of moans...

Was in Peter Stirland Ford (Hungerford) a couple of times recently and had another very positive experience. In for an intermediate oil change and they picked up and dealt with a warranty issue - seamlessly, the way it should be! The owner's Magnetic MY18 is now sold but I wouldn't be...
  2. The Never Ending Warranty Issue

Ben, You'll find that Stirland of Hungerford are already pretty well versed in 'things Mustang', they are my local Ford Dealer and look after mine. Although not a designated FordStore they have supplied several S550 Mustangs locally, fitted mods and have run a couple of new Mustangs within...
  3. Any Interest In a Compact Spare for Brembo Equipped Cars?

Mine arrived in the UK between Christmas and New Year, wheel only. Ordered in May. Fits as described in the spare wheel well and on the car.
  4. UK spare wheel?

Then the early birds got the worm :D ! USPS worked well and is (nearly 3 times) less expensive than their UPS option.
  5. UK spare wheel?

Nick, best to go through their ordering process up to the payment method to get an accurate quote as the prices have changed. I placed my order back in May of this year before the product was even available and received a pre-order discount at that time. Automotive Authority seem very 'active'...
  6. UK spare wheel?

The Automotive Authority solution is now shipping - a correctly sized wheel which will fit over the larger brakes AND also in the spare wheel well has been a long time coming. It has the same rolling diameter as the GT rears so will not strain the limited slip diff when in use on the rear...

And another for the more 'depreciation conscious' http://www.boatwright.co.uk/american_vehicle/2008-ford-mustang-shelby-gt500-convertible/

  9. EU specs / options / schedule

The only visual cues on a car outfitted with the new Performance Pack Level 2 are black detailing on the splitter and spoiler, the tire spat on the back edge of the rear wheel wells and the 10-spoke Dark Tarnish wheels, which are exclusive.
  10. EU specs / options / schedule

New Mustang GT Performance Pack Level 2 - US Specs New Mustang GT Performance Pack Level 2 raises Mustang GT’s game and bridges the gap between GT Performance Pack and GT350 Performance Pack Level 2 is accentuated by a lower, more aggressive stance, aerodynamically balanced high-performance...
  11. US 'Detailing' vs UK 'washing the car'

Same /\. I find Autoglym's Rapid Detailer does a good job on black plastics if you are between washes.
  12. Michelin PS4S info

Michelin UK told me today that standard UK S550 GT sizes will be available this month and provided the following product codes: CAI 337467, for the MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 S in 255/40 ZR 19 100(Y) CAI 946969, for the MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 S in 275/40 ZR 19 105(Y)
  13. Michelin PS4S info

All of Ford's RHD '17 Mustangs at their sell-out UK "Go Faster" event are running on PS 4S tyres - and very nice they were too for the timed Mustang 'Shakedown' run, felt VERY grippy. Michelin are the event tyre sponsor. http://ford.to/GoFasterUK
  14. What did you do to your UK S550 Mustang Today

All that "Yada, yada, yada", and then the truth finally comes out in the final sentence :clap2: "...gunning it from a standstill, the automatic felt faster, also when up changing on paddles though its not instant to the paddle input the car never lets off the gas, giving seamless acceleration...
  15. What did you do to your UK S550 Mustang Today

Hmmm ... that IS interesting/puzzling! Mine is going in on Tuesday for an oil change and service and will be staying in the garage once West Berkshire Council start chucking salt on the roads. Will be interesting to track the % oil life remaining with very occasional use over the Winter into...
  16. What did you do to your UK S550 Mustang Today

I suspect that if it were possible to unpick the sloppy PDI resets then it probably does work as intended. Repeated full throttle, full load applications will likely lower oil life into the 5 - 7.5k mile oil change interval. For the cost of an oil change, are the longer term repercussions of...
  17. What did you do to your UK S550 Mustang Today

I suspect that it is easier than some think to slip into the 'severe use' scenario where oil changes come up at 5k - 7.5k miles. It depends on how you drive and in any case 'normal' duty cycles can trigger an oil change and service from 7.5k. Early S550s may well have been subject to sloppy PDIs...
  18. Resonator delete

Don't forget that Autos have an Adaptive Learning feature. If the battery has been disconnected or you've been driving like Miss Daisy then the tranny has to relearn its strategy for more 'spirited' use. I have a Ford Performance resonator delete X-pipe on my GT Auto and I don't think it...
  19. Worth a try

Couldn't resist it either, Nick - drifting. J-turns and handbrake parking - what's not to like!
  20. Resonator delete

Have a Ford Performance resonator delete X-Pipe with an otherwise standard factory system on a GT Auto. Measured on two occasions for track sound level test (4000-ish RPM, 1 meter from tailpipe) - 99 dB at one venue and 101 dB at another. No drone and tone consistent with a modern 32 valve, quad...
