I always said that when I would get my mustang, I would not mod it, but here I am looking for the first mod I want to do on my GT PP 2018! lol.

Anyway, I never did any workon a car, not even changing oil, but now I am looking to order a steeda clutch spring because, well, the clutch feel weird.

So, now I don't know what to order. Do I need to order the complete kit with the perch, which cost 85$, or only the 20$ spring?

Thanks!

Thanks.

Another question tho, anybody knows a place I can order the 20$ spring without paying 25$ of shipping to canada? I hate paying more shipping than the price of the item.

Sounds like you just need to add a few more parts to that order to make it worth it you know... :sunglasses:

Steeda subframe braces, jacking rails are easy bolt on mods that are not too intimidating for a person new to working on their car. Hell, I didn't even Jack my car to put the jacking rails on.

hmmm, the mod I was planning after that was catch can. Maybe I'll wait and order the 2 together later on.

Don't worry, that's what we all say. Then once we get home, we immediately visit this forum and in a torrent of mouse-clickery and mashing of one's keyboard, we find a way to cram our wallet into the USB port near the speed of light. Then, after you hit the credit-card rev limiter, you wait, rather un-patiently, for the delivery by MustangClaus (Delivered by ~450 horses, mind you). :sunglasses:

Getting back to the question. Just get the spring. Or, don't get the spring and just pull the stock one off like I did. If you don't like the feel of it, then buy the steeda spring, and put it back on.

If you want a catch can, I wouldn't go with the Steeda unit, as it's very small. I have the Bob's catch can, and it works great, plus, it's bigger. Maybe see if you have a friend in the states that could purchase the parts for you, then mail them all together? I don't know how the customs taxes work in Canada, so I have no clue if there's any way around the shipping cost.

As for other Steeda parts, if you're going to do ANYTHING on your car with a jack, the jacking rails are a must. I'm about to install the Stop the Hop kit, which is another great investment.

ETA: You'll love the clutch spring. Coming from a stock S197 GT with a 3V, when I got into the S550 GT, I couldn't believe how light the clutch was, and how little feel there was. I think the clutch spring has been my favorite mod, as it's something that you interact with hundreds of times per day. A little extra tension really helps!

Agree, Jacking Rails are a must, Catch Can is also a must IMO, I have a JLT and LOVE it. I would also focus on any rear suspension you can afford as you will get wheel hop just pulling out of the car wash with light throttle otherwise. Maybe a switchback turn signal kit?

Though, as mentioned before a tune really helps wake up throttle response and gives you a few more smiles per gallon but I understand if you prefer to stay away from ECU mods. Have you looked into FORSCAN as well? Some nice mods can be done through that program to help customize your car. I have the GT Performance startup screen and black background on my nav screen, didnt care for the horse and blue theme. I turned off the double honk that you get if you leave the car running and exit with the key. If you do LED turn signals you will want FORSCAN to turn off the hyper flash you get from the blinker.

Just some thoughts

I order parts to a warehouse just on the US side of the border. Then when I have enough parts there, I drive down and pick them up. I declare at Canada customs and pay the taxes, but I save on the all the extra shipping fees and brokerage fees normally charged to Canadians from US merchants.

I do this 1-2 per year. I currently have some BMR goodies waiting for me there. In the past I have bought wheels, tires, suspension parts, etc....big savings

I also picked up the Steeda clutch spring and perch mount on Kijiji, so keep your eyes open there, you sometimes find exactly what you are looking for right here in Canada. I paid $75 cdn shipped, it was brand new in the bag still.
