Start up

The last 2 days my car has taken progressively longer to start up. Today it sounded very weak start up. Any ideas?

I have not checked battery. On side note gas Milage has gone down from 29avg to 25..maybe related?

Had mine die on me a couple weeks ago too. 14 months and 22,500 miles. Stopped taking charge one night. Wouldn't go above 11.4V even with a jump. Wasn't able to start the car cuz of it.

I think within a year you could have gone back to Ford and have them check the battery, and if bad they'd replace it free or at reduced cost.

To be honest, not surprising. Most stock batteries aren't that great, and the cold kills them. I see you're in NJ, likely the case. Glad you at least sorted it out.

You should not have to pay for a new battery (yet)!

Most batteries will have at least a 60 month warranty!

I would have went back to Ford and had them replace it.

Check your spark plugs to make sure the gap isn't too big, and the ceramic is still in tach.

? Why? What are your mods?

It is tuned for one. And also I have a grill delete with a new ic and some other small stuff. Makes it kind of obvious something fishy is going on even if it's not really modded much. I gapped the plugs at .030 myself. This was a few week before Adam offered his pre gaps I wish they came out earlier. I always wonder about them, but the car is doing fine now with the new battery.
