Something I have noticed and never really thought it was a big deal is when I first start the car, the RPM seem to rev just above 1 and you can even hear it. After about a minute, the needle drops below 1. Is this normal? Now this is all with no foot on clutch or gas, simply just starting the car. This is my dirt turbo and I have the mods listed in Sig. Thanks

Absolutely normal cold start sequence on pretty much every car.

K, guess I really never noticed I always lived in warm areas until recently. Maybe the colder weather makes it more noticeable

the startup RPM and warmup period will change depending the engine temp. So it makes sense you are noticing it more in the cooler temps. I've started my car in single digit temps and it idles at 1700 rpm for several minutes then slowly drops from there as things warm up.

Yea I got it, I read the first two posts and it answered my questions. Like I said I'm noticing it more with the colder weather. I'm from Florida, so usually warm.

Just to add, it is normal warm up for all cars but you don't notice it on most cars because they tend to be quiet, especially left stock.

The warmup on my car definitely got louder once I replaced the intake with an MMR big tube.. sounds awesome now when it first starts sucking in all that air Lol.
