Posting from the local mall, my car will not start.

Believe it has something to do with my clutch, because power does turn on.

When I press in my clutch nothing happens, kind of depressing.

Only 8,000 miles in, she's already starting to kick :(

Try the following. (p122/123 of manual)

1. Remove the rubber covering (A) in the cupholder.

2. Place the remote in the backup slot (B) with the buttons facing up and the
keyring toward the front of the vehicle.

3. With the key in this position, press the brake pedal (automatic transmission) or clutch pedal (manual transmission), then the START button to switch the ignition on and start your vehicle

Tried jiggling the steering wheel? This is all I can think of.

First thing I tried... I'm guessing a safety sensor went out unless the clutch went out completely, if so I'll be enraged with ford.

You should hear the fuel pump prime up when the clutch pedal is depressed. Maybe check the fuel pump fuse ... it's fuse number 49 in the fuse box under the hood on the RH side. It's a 30A fuse.

So when you depress the clutch and hit the start button, nothing happens ... no messages, flashing lights, etc on the dash or on the Information Display?

All fuses in place.

Yes usually I hear the fuel pump kick on and the lights flash on... I press it and nothing happens. Everything stays black.

An update I just got it towed to my house and it will be towed to dealership tomorrow morning. Hopefully it's something minor and ford offers some kind of loaner as my Chrysler is in the shop for some mods .:(

Maybe the switch on the clutch pedal isn't activating properly. These cars can be complicated as we all know with all the high tech electronics and gismos everywhere.

Please let us know what the dealer finds out ... could be helpful to others in case it happens to them.

Sounds like a dead battery.

My Hot Hatch had a minor power leak (bad door handle) and the battery would slowly trickle to nothing over a few months until I couldn't even use the keyfob to unlock the door, I had to pull out the emergency key. It was so dead there weren't even any lights on the dashboard.

So I say, whilst the car is at home (if it still is), jab a volt meter onto the battery and check the levels. For a 12v system, anything below 11.6v is signs of a bad charge level. 11.7 to 12.6 is optimal.

Pretty sure it's not the clutch! If nothing is turning on I would blame it on the battery. Did you try and jump it off?

Yeah, definitely not the clutch if there is zero electrical power as we're led to believe.
