So I have a 2022 mustang gt and i just recently got stainless power catted headers installed. Right after the install on the test drive it started making a rattling sound. I took it to the shop and they inspected it and said that my cats are coming apart and falling out and thats why the noise is coming. They told me that it would be better to just get a catless pipe and have that put on. Im wondering if there is a part i could buy online that would fit my stainless power headers or do I try to find a shop that can do custom work for me?

I literally just bought mine a few weeks ago. Here’s the part number for the stainless works brand. Got them from Terry/Beefcake. I think full price was $100, I got them during the Memorial Day sale.

Are they sure it's the cats?

I have Stainless Power headers, and they are VERY TIGHT on one of the ac components. I'm sure it could cause a rattling sound, but I didn't like how close it was so I use a piece of high temp turbo hosing, bent it and drilled a little hole in it and put a nut on the top bolt to hold it in place.

I was wondering if it might cause a false knock if it vibrated.

It's even closer than it looks in the pic.

I had the same issue with my Kooks headers. From up top it looked fine, but it was close enough to make contact at certain RPM or when turning left.

I was able to pry the line a little bit from underneath and gain enough clearance to stop the rattle.
