Even with hi-flows you will likely still fail inspection depending on the strictness of the law.

A couple of questions.

1) Is there a solution for a safe 700whp (or 630whp on a mustang dyno :) ) on CA 91 octane? Will stage 2 get me there? Or a larger headunit? I see a few whipple installs just shy of 700 on 93 octane so I know this may be a challenge...

2) Which headunits are you planning CARB for? And do you have older units that have CARB EOs? I ask the 2nd question because if you have units already with some EOs, then I feel better about your promise to pursue EOs for the new packages. Otherwise 5 years from now, I'd be screwed. :(

on #1, it's a little early IMO to say exactly whats safe at that level. the cars haven't been out with these pistons and rods. with the 11-14's we creeped up on them.

On those we feel comfortable at around the 580 to maybe 600 wheel mark on 91, for "longevity", we have people that push more, an it's super easy to do.

The 15 is a little more stout, just not sure at longevity, how long the pistons are going to hold up, they are still thin up top

Do you think 630whp on a mustang dyno would be safe-ish for the 15, since its a bit stronger?

And putting aside safety for a moment, is it even possible to get a procharger package that could get me there on 91?

you can get just about any package that would get you there.

the problem isn't making power

it's deciding where you want to safely make it

had we hooked decent on the last pass, we had it turned up to 900wheel, should have been 9.5 to 9.4s

I would never put a customers car out like that, it's not a question of if, but when she'll go

you can get 900whp on 91 octane!? Ok, don't want quite that much. "Just" 700 on 91. Would a stage 2 get me there and what headunit?

My questions have always been in regard to pump gas, 91. Not e85 or any other race gas. I figured 900 is out of the question on pump, which is why I was a bit incredulous.

The question is, is 700 whp( on a dynojet) possible on 91, given some Whipple setups are within spitting distance at 690whp on 93 octane? And 2nd, if so, is there procharger setup that can get me there?

I mean procharger claims their latest tune puts over 600whp on a mustang dyno on 91. I just need 30whp more on that same dyno. Can I get 30whp more on 91 using a better setup?

Note: Since mustang dynos read 10-15% lower than dynojets, I consider 630whp on a mustang dyno = 700whp on a dynojet.

you can make the power, I do not believe that is a safe area to continuously run on 91 octane - being able to and should are 2 different things

power is easy on a coyote engine. they want to breathe. It's how far are you comfortable running them at.

On a customer car, I would personally keep it around 600-630ish.

600-630 on a mustang dyno or a dynojet?

I don't think anyone has found that limit yet. :)

The motor will let go, before you run out of intercooler on the STG2
