Wondering if anyone has tried running a squared tire setup on the PP wheels, maybe 275s on all four corners?

Had 275/35/19 RE71Rs on all four corners and now have 285/35/19 RE71Rs on all four corners.

I'm running 275/35s. I can't feel any rollover, but the RE71R has a stiff sidewall. Tire sidewall wear marking doesn't show anything unusual as far as rollover goes, but I probably still run too much pressure in the tires (33/34 psi hot, I hear they like a little less).

With both wheels off I was scratching my head trying to figure out which was the front and which was the rear. Only 1/5" rear rim width differentiating between the two its easier to spot the fronts by tire wear patterns than by the rim size.

Grip is good, but you can still overdrive the fronts if you try. I'm planning on rotating the tires on the rims front to back in a while to extend tire life. My rears are wearing about 80% quicker than the fronts.

Remember the max amount of "slotting" is 2 mm. :-)

lol, thanks for the response, how well did it function compared to the stock 255s upfront, could you feel more sidewall rollover or is the width of the wheel wide enough to not feel the affects.
Idunno. I only drove 100 miles with 255s on the front. I don't think the 275s are vague at all......I don't think the 285s would be either. Would they be better on 10s?.....yep.

Keep in mind, almost everybody that has responded are on RE71Rs.

275/35x19 RE-71Rs are fine in front for street and Autox based on over 200 runs and 12K highway miles (on more than one set :-) )

I have the star specs (yea yea i know the 'stones are better, but i wanted to get some miles out of my autox tires this season..although ive heard the 71r's are getting better longevity than i originally thought) in 275/35 square. No real change in steering feel(imo the car has pretty vague steering feel no matter what tires you have..typical for electric racks) and no rubbing(suspension is stock). I actually really like the balance with the square setup...its surprisingly neutral compared to stock(with way higher grip levels obviously).

I'm running 275/40/19's all around, but with a 5mm front spacer, not sure if 285/35/19's would clear. I'd like to run Cooper RS3S's. (19 x 9.5's all around)

I've got 275/40 MPSS on all 4, my daily tires but still ran them this weekend in STP trim. No issues with them, ran them at 35 psi front and 31 rear with very good results (1st in class) better grip than the 255's for sure

So you have a stock PP rear wheel on the front?
