Hi, I have a GT PP1 2018 and it came with Pilot Sport 4 S. They are wearing really fast. I don't even know if they will last me 2 summers. My guess is they will be gone after 15k.

So for my nest setup I would like to have something that wears slower that the PS4S. I still want t have some good performance but I know it wont be as good as the PS4S.

But to help on keeping the next set longer, I would like to have a square setup, so I can at least rotate front to back to helpon the wear.

So my question is, can I go 275 all around without addint offset or changing the front wheels? Are the front wheels on the PP the same as the one on the back? Would 275 fit on the front without any other change?

I guess my second question would be a recommendation for tires with good wear and good performance for a good price.

Thanks
Stephane.

The wheels on your PP1 are 9.0" wide on the front and 9.5" on the rear. You can install a rear rim on the front if you install a 5mm spacer. that will keep the tire from rubbing the front strut.

So I cannot put 275 on the 9.0" wide wheels?

Depends on the tire. Most will fit, but with that wide a tire on a 9.0" wheel, you'll likely have a bit worse handling/less responsive steering with most tires that are slower wearing than the PS4S.

You can but it will not be a true square setup. You will have a little tire bulge on the 9" rim compared to the 9.5" rim.

275 on a 9" is doable. You can't rotate front/back so its not getting you much, but the 275 MP4S will definitely fit on a 9" wheel, and no handling won't be 'poor' if you do.

Edited, 'poorer/less responsive'. Yeah it'll fit but without a stiff sidewall and square wheels, what's the point? He's looking for something with better wear than a PS4S, and generally those are going to be tires that are already less responsive/softer sidewalls to start with.

I could rotate by switching them on the wheels, but that might be too much trouble. I guess I'll stick to 255 on the front, and maybe go with continental extreme contact sport.

I'm also in a similar situation. Stock 17 GT PP with 255/275's on 9/9.5" wheels. I don't need the staggered setup and my car is my DD so I'd prefer to be able to rotate. Just wondering what my real options are... buy two new 9" PP wheels to replace my 9.5's in the rear and buy four non-directional 255's ... buy two new 9.5" PP wheels to replace my 9's in the front and buy four non-directional 275's and two 5mm spacers ...

Same situation.. I'm sure someone on here has done this. Looking into your option two (rears to the front).
