Hey guys - I just bought my ruby red GTPP Friday, and I'm looking to get a square setup for daily driving duty. I'll use the stock wheels and tires for autox, but I'd like to go square so I can rotate the tires with my DD.

I've tried searching and have learned some stuff, but not enough to go out and make a purchase.

I'd like to keep the cost around $2k, and go with gloss black wheels. I'd also like to go with a wider tire - 275/40-19 all around, so that would push me towards a 9.5 wheel, correct?

Any recommendations on cheapish wheels and good A/S tires? From what I've read, I'll need a 5mm spacer for the fronts. Where can I get those?

Are you wanting a particular wheel design?

Project 6GR 19x10 on all four corners gets you tons of tire options, a wide 10" wheel that fits, and you can do 285 tires front and back which is a wonderful size.

Those are nice, but I would rather stay closer to the $200-250 range.

yeah, but they're sooo sweet, and its only a few hundred more for a really great wheel you'll be proud to own for a long time. Up to you though.

The need for spacers (or not) is entirely dependent on your wheel selection and the wheel offset. Spacers correct for offset, so if you get the right wheel, you don't need spacers. To run the stock PP 9.5" rears you'd need spacers in the front, but that's only because of offset is too high for the fronts. (spacers subtract offset, because more offset means the wheel is pushed inward more)

I'd recommend going a little wider for the wheels and a little narrower on the tires. If you stretch them slightly, handling responsiveness should improve, especially with soft sidewalled A/S tires. So 275 on a 10" or similar. I have 285s on a 10" and you can feel them squirming a bit as you transition.

The Continental ExtremeContact DSW is a popular A/S tire.

Damn I like those Project 6GR wheels....I haven't found any wheels that I like until now. Thanks for that! I'm gonna go with 19x10 front and 19x11 rears :D

I'm assuming you want to stay around 2k total for both wheels and tires correct? Take a look at the sve drift wheels. 9.5 wide can do 275/40 on all 4 corners with ease. The wheels themselves are 690 plus shipping for a set of 4
