You could use cruise control to stay under the limit, but really, what fun is that?

Invest in countermeasures.

Waze, as mentioned, will alert you where cops have been reported. Its not perfect and there are plenty of false alerts, but it has saved me countless times.

Radar Detector. Now, you'll find alot of people saying they dont work. The catch is, you have to buy a good one. I would recommend one with GPS lockouts so that false alerts dont drive you crazy. Uniden R3 is a great unit. Escort Redline and Valentine One are good units but no GPS. You could go with an installed unit for stealth like an Escort 9500ci too, this is one of the detectors I have.

Laser Jammers. IF laser is used in your area, you should look into ALP jammers and how to use them properly. First I would try to see if it's actually a threat, because they are expensive. But if its common where you are, they're priceless. My system has paid for itself several times over.

Remember that all these things are layers of protection. The more layers you have, the less chance of a ticket. But none of them are perfect, and eventually, you'll still get a ticket. But the more layers, the better.

I enjoy speeding, even before I had my Mustang. I was averaging a speeding ticket every 3 months. I invested in everything mentioned above, did not change my driving habits, and then went 1 year and 10 months with no ticket. If that isn't proof that countermeasures work, nothing is.

I highly recommend you sign up on RDF Forum. It is a great forum community for all the things I mentioned, I am a semi-active member there and there is all the info you need to know on that board. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, I should have the answers. I'm as much of a nut about countermeasures as I am about Mustangs

Y'all need to remember what we are driving.
When I had my '15 SS, it was like the LEO's were keying on me.

Not too bad with this GT; yet.

Also, if there is a Dodge truck, Chevy car, a van and a dump truck and someone sets off a radar in a patrol car, the first one he'll look at is the
Mustang or whatever Sport car that is around.

This is true, good catch. moving K band falses are unbelievably annoying.

Personally K band is nearly unused by me. I actually run a 9500ci up front for Ka range and then a muted V1 on my rear windshield for Ka/K/X (with YaV1 running up front). Not a setup most people would do, but works excellent for me. However most people can't mostly-ignore K band.

Today I used the waze app. I started seeing some of the benefits. I like the notifications left by others of any cops, hazards, and so on. I quickly figured out how to post a breakdown on the road. What I don't like is how distracting it is. It makes me want to upgrade my iphone to the plus. Either way, it helps.

The other feature I like is the speed tracker. I set my car on cruise control at 50, 60, and 70. The waze app was documenting 2-3 mph more. I do believe my gauge in the stang will be off but I don't know if by that much. I am running 275/35/20 front and 275/40/20 rear. I'm almost positive Saleen didn't calibrate the speedo. If that's the case, no wonder I was clocked at 55 when I thought I was going 51-52. I'll double check with my Garmin GPS this weekend.

Going in 40ish on 30 mph back roads and a cruiser was coming in the opposite side and as soon as it came very near all the lights came up and I slowed down and the cruiser kept going, thought it was a warning. One thing I did not understand was how did the car driving in the opposite saw my speed was more than the posted speed, is it just the hunch or the cop car has a speed detector?

Yes -- there are very few tuners that calibrate the tires properly -- things may have caught up some, but for a long time Ford and Whipple were the only way you could do it. As I understand it, beginning with the '15, the tire size component moved from the main ECU to the ABS system?

Could be either. I think they can just look at a car and guess its speed. I once had a visual warning, without getting pulled over. Police officer was parked, watching cars go by, and then started pointing his finger down, indicating for me to slow down.

i follow the 10% rule... i will go 10% over the posted limit and no more... this will help skew appropriately with slower posted speeds... people always say 9 over and you're good... but 9 over in a 25 is insane..LOL But 2mph over in a 25 is a lot more acceptable.

5 mph is a safe bet even in those 30 mph zones. School zones? Don't even press your luck.

Many radar systems have two antennas and can tell the cop the speeds of cars going toward or away from the cop, in front and behind him. While moving or stationary. The most common one is the Stalker DSR X2

So yes that is completely plausible that he knew your speed. Although as said they do use visual estimation too.

It sounds like you need a Whipple Flare Tool to adjust the revs per mile on your tires to correct the speedometer.

You can also do it with the HPTuners software ($499 for the complete package (cheaper for just the "scanner" software which is what actually does it) and you can tune with it - cheaper than Whipple) OR you can order a $30 adapter and use FORScan to change the BCM (where the axle ration / tire diameter is stored).

The ABS sensor does adjust, at least within a certain range as far as gear ration / tire diameter. GPS and police car laser verified my '17 V6 speedo bone stock with 17" wheels and 3.15 gears. Verified again with changing to 18" wheels and then again when adding 3.55 gears.

As for tickets - haven't had one since '98 I think- but not sure that counts. I forgot to pay it, showed up in court, and apparently I was the only person in the room who was there to admit to speeding and just pay the ticket. Judge let me off.

I set the cruise 90% of the time. 9mph over. I figure it this way - if they pull me for 9 mph over, I'll take the ticket. 19 years and change with no tickets? I guarantee I'll get a shot at driving school or get it reduced.

I commuted / daily drove a Sport bike for several years - about 9-10 months out of the year (Good gear is worth every penny) and never got a ticket. 90% of that is situational awareness. That and the fact that so many drivers aren't paying attention to their speed, much less anything else.

The other day I was coming back from a road trip. Speed Limit 70mph, cruise on 79mph. I passed the SAME CAR 5 or 6 times. The last time the passenger in that car was staring me down and commenting to the driver of the car. The pulled ahead - my cruise on the whole time. Fast forward a few minutes, pull over because my passenger had to use the restroom. Guess who I see parked at the gas pumps? Yep - the same car.

Noticed the passenger inside the gas station (apparently the wife of the driver). Decided to go ahead and top off (cheap 93 octane) and she walked back out to her car with her husband / kid. She made a comment and looked my way. I couldn't resist.

"If you're talking about how I passed you 5 or 6 times in the interstate, it might help you to know that my cruise control was on the SAME SPEED the entire time. I'm thinking your car might have it to, might want to try it out."

The look on her face was priceless. My passenger was cracking up when we got in the car to leave.

This is true. I went with the Flare tool just because it was easier and I didn't feel like messing with Forscan. But I paid more because of that.

Just FYI

The ticket for having a radar detector in VA is <$100 and no points. It's actually cheaper to get a radar detector ticket than it is to get a speeding ticket.

There are also several detectors that aren't detectable by radar-detector-detectors (say that 3 times fast lol). So if its installed out of sight you won't get noticed. Radar-detector-detectors are also not as common as you'd think, even in VA. Loudoun County is probably the most likely place in VA to run into one, but still not as common as you'd think.
