HI All,

I recently installed a Barton Shifter trans mounted and the back of the shifter is very close to the transmission tunnel. My engine is on UPR mounts and is 1/2" lower. Should i add spacers between the gearbox ,mount and the body to bring everything back in-line? Would it also need spacers on the Driveshaft centre mount?

You should be checking the angles of your tailshaft (driveshaft) if nothing else. Given that you’re presumably on a two piece, the difference in driveline angle could be reasonably severe. You may need to shim both the box and the centre bearing to bring it all back into spec.

Thanks Burkey.
I will get some 1/2" shims made and spacer them both so they are back inline with the engine.
