Sourcing issues with Magneride?

Spork, I think the red on red would be absolutely beautiful. Check out the C7 Corvette in Torch red with adrenaline red interior. The Mustang will be very close, and I think you would be very happy with that combo. It would be a rare one IMHO.

Sorry about your MY18 Spork. However, I think they probably already had those MR's allocated even before I ordered. I think they probably had planned on getting a certain amount of the PP2's out in the market. I had actually heard from one source that the PP2's were going to be a limited allocation, so I was worried that might actually hurt my chances. I feel your pain man! But, you will enjoy that MY19 even more.

Your saga sounds exactly like mine. Ordered late Jan and still no Vin. I do have an allocation and confirmed order, just nothing else yet.

My build is practically the same as yours PP1, Magneride and the Active exhaust with the M6 and Orange Fury Paint. I am calling my dealer on Friday to see if it was accepted or not.

Ask your dealer to swing a deal on this one and get it swapped and to you, sounds like this may be similar to your build, but may have a few more bells and whistles, not sure if you wanted recaros, but this is pretty loaded OF GT.

Balanced out meaning good to go? I contacted Ford live chat last night and they couldn't tell me anything. Reason I am waiting until Friday is because I was told that was the day that Ford updates the build schedules.

I'm with you on that one. I see a lot of people order them or want them, but if they daily drive it, they may think differently. I've had them before in other cars, and I'm very happy without them in my PP2.

My 12-26 order, PP1 Mag, & A10 has a Vin and a EDD of 5-7. So that car will be shiped???

Honestly, no idea - it seems almost random as to who was lucky enough to get the remaining MR systems on a PP1. It certainly shows why orders are taking so ridiculously long for MR systems where-as others seem to have their cars in under 4 months! :frusty:

Just spoke with my sales guy at the dealership I'm ordering from, as I wanted to ask if I should just go ahead and do the order officially as "mine" instead of a dealer order to expedite the 2019. He told me there's no need as they already put the 2019 order under my name, but prioritized it to the highest level they can, which he said is "retail" which (he claimed) should make it one of the first built.

No. Balanced out means they will not schedule any additional builds with those particular specs. If you don't have a VIN, I believe you are out of luck on that order. If you do have a VIN, materials have been allocated to your order and the car should be built. Remember though that dealer orders are still being built, so if you are set on an MY18, I'd keep looking. There are new cars showing up in dealer inventory daily.

Ford uses Just In Time inventory. Which means they DO NOT stockpile inventory.

Thus they run estimates for the year and proceed with their suppliers along those lines.

There is always some fluff but it can be limited. If they estimated x mag units (including GT350s) at x number per month that may be an upper limit. Even if buyer demand jumps the Ford supplier will have their own capacity (space, manufacturing equipt, Trained employees) limitations. With PP2 orders coming in (maybe at a greater number then anticipated) and GT350s starting up again it would appear that Ford's supplier has hit their max capacity wall....or parts that the supplier needs to build the mag units may have hit a snag....it is all one chain. A little hickup along the way and certain builds go on constraint.

The days are long gone when Ford made their own parts. At one point in time Ford made their own steel, their own glass and windows etc.

Ordered a PP2 car on 3-6-18, am I screwed

So by the sounds of what is being said my order placed on 3-6-18 most likely will be cancelled, dealer sent me a screen shot of its status As being “in order Processing”. First time I have ordered a vehicle. What do you all think
