Last night my nephew installed the JBL GTO 638 6.5 in the doors of my base stereo system it improved the mids and highs but exposed the issue of literally no bass whatsoever thinking about trying this powered sub would rather go under the seat but looking at the forum the trunk looks like the better option has anyone put one of these in yet?

I don't think you are going to get much base out of that. I would try something like this instead:

I have used this in the past. It works really well and the base was worth the money. Please keep in mind that something like you posted or I will ever sound like a million dollars system but it should do the trick. Hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure nothing will fit under our seats but the Basslink does fit in the area that the shaker goes into.

Yeah I went through 2 in my car. But the second install is plug and play! :)

I second the Basslink.
I third the Basslink
The reviews are not very favorable. Apparently, although the sound is great, the woofer itself does not last a very long time.
I had one in my 08 GT and 3 years later it was still flawless. I think people that had problems had everything at max

I am considering the Basslink. I like how it doesn't take up much space.

I had one of these sound ordinance subs under the back seat of an ex cab canyon a while back. If anything it sounded worse because the bass it did put out was muddy and high pitched. I would definitely not recommend it to anyone unless it was free.
