So, who blew up this EcoBoost?

Don't know details other than what I was told...which was this engine was deep in the 8,000 rpm range due to a tune issue when it windowed the block.

Anyone else see this?

Which tuners have a black ecoboost? Could also be an unfortunate customer car too I guess. Who did you get the info you have from? Seems they know the answer if they had pictures.

I saw it on a FB page. A friend told me about it. He said he was told "8,200 plus RPM and it let go." I think Lund, Livernois and WMS have black cars. This was an auto and Lund and WMS have manuals..only Livernois has an auto. I sincerely doubt this is their car.

Actually there are approximately a million reasons this could have happened. Nobody knows (here anyway) if it was a mistake or error on tuner, driver or car. These things aren't indestructible and if something fails, it's not automatically fords fault.

They have multiple development engines at the shop. I was up there with a friend a few days ago and their engine is in the car and they are working on a lot of development right now while the weather is frigid and nasty.

Not saying it has anything to do with Ford , OP said that car was past 8000RPM due to tune issues. There is no reason why anyone should have those motors that high mistake or not. Expensive mistake from what I can see. Its all speculation at this point.

For sure not our car guys. Our friends at american racing headers can vouch for that as they have it while helping us release some new products for you guys.

Although we are interested as to what happened as well as everyone else. One thing we've spent a great deal of time with on EcoBoost engines is knowing how to not have this happen. It looks like some others are a bit behind in their learning ;-)
