I've posted here about overheating with my 2020 GT and the A10 transmission, happened last year. After Ford dealer replacing the main seal I've only done normal road trip driving, etc. until this weekend. I have a aftermarket trans cooler ready to go for install but I figured I'd head out to the track and give it a go anyway. Welp very first session halfway through it's smoking like crazy again. This time I've got a ride along mechanic friend and we're monitoring on a SnapOn professional system. The trans temp hit 235 in no time during an early morning run and for me at least it's always spitting fluid out the breather on to the exhaust!!
What I'm asking about is shouldn't this transmission handled at least 10 to 15 minutes of track level driving? Ford put a Track mode on the damn car.
Second question or discussion; should I take it back to the dealer and push them to look at the pump failing before just adding the cooling mods? (Note. I had Zero push back from my dealer about having the car on the track.)
I know how much an issue this is from my last post and reading other transmission threads. I'm just feeling a bit stubborn that Ford built a Mustang GT with a transmission that can't handle a few minutes on the track? Curious is this is my third season and during my Novice times I never had an overheat (cause Novice?).
FYI facts: mileage is 13,900 now. Track date was today, it wasn't even 82 degrees at start of session. Fluids are Ford dealer replaced. 10 minutes into session temp was 230 then 235 few minutes later, smoke was light until I hit fast turns then thick indicating the breather was shooting fluid on to exhaust more. fwiw
