I think I'm going to like the new Mustang. So much so that like many others here I put my money where my mouth is an ordered the GT PP. That said, I wanted to hear what other people have experienced/worry about the car up front. I have a few asks/gripes!
1) I wish the Recaros had optional heat, esp given the premium. Totally get why others may not want it depending on location and weight savings
2) A larger fuel tank. It always surprises me when automakers stick these performance cars with tiny tanks. I'm not concerned about mpg (my current car averages 13), but a 16 gallon tank means frequent fuel stops on the GT (can folks share what range they are getting on current GT's). The ecoboost will be better (I wouldn't personally get it) but they SHRUNK the tank size there by half a gallon! How about the GT350 and other performance versions, assuming Ford (like other manufacturers) keeps the same tank size, we're talking about a tiny range - kind of like my car right now. It can be frustrating if you drive the car often or far. Friend of mine has the CTS-V wagon (loves it) but seriously hates the tiny range - its almost ridiculous.
3) The ordering process has been a PITA with confusion on what 68B, Redline is and their compatibility with the Recaros! Ford has reps on this forum, they or the dealer or someone should communicate with customers to explain what is going on rather than let us order and keep us hanging.
4) Thrilled those of us who like bold colors have been offered RR, CO and TY. Wouldnt mind seeing GB make a come back and GHIG.
5) Prolly the only one, but I would have appreciated the glass roof. I dont know whether I would actually order the thing if they offered it (kind of like how many Euro fan buddies of mine always complain about the lack of manual performance wagon options but never end up buying them, LOL!), but sat in a Stang with one and it felt really airy and bright inside.
Other than that, not much to complain so far. I realize a lot of folks are not happy about the lack of auto and PP, and the lack of wheel choice with the PP (it is is surprising to me that they havent included more wheels with the PP), but I dig the black wheels personally so no issue there.
