Slamming into gear?

If the issue is with the 10R80, slamming into gear when selecting a gear off of Park or going into Reverse it is not normal. As mentioned above it can be indicative of the clutch assembly failing OR possibly one or both the other most common issues with the 10R80:

- Low fluid from the factory. Check your fluid levels when the car is at normal operating temp.

- Bad or failing valve body.

It’s best to schedule an appointment to have the car looked at because the slamming in gear is t normal and if not addressed it will just get worse.

Also worth getting the PCM reset to do a gearbox relearn. Quite often that fixes harsh shifting.

Use a obd2 scanner or forscan or disconnect the battery cables from the battery and hold them together for about 30 seconds then leave the battery disconnected for about 30-45 minutes. Reconnect the battery
