I drive my car on the weekend nights, No rain driving and no high speed cornering as I run 17in ET R's with racestars on the rear.

Wanted to see who runs skinnies on the street? I never have.

Thank for the info

I wouldn't. There was a guy on the old forums years ago that ran skinnies on the front of his cobra. Van pulled out in front of him and he couldn't stop in time. Insurance denied the claim because of the skinnies.

I do it. Take turns slowly, keep plenty of room in front of you and scan for potholes. I like how the skinnies make the car feel more responsive.

I know a few people that do it, they do not daily their cars but when they do drive it they are extremely careful..
It's obviously not as safe as driving on a normal wheel/tire but those are the risks you take when driving on skinnies.

?? Sounds like the opposite of responsive.

the guy pulled out in front of him and the front tires are DOT approved. Doesnt sound like it was his fault.

I drive my car on big n littles most of the time just because I do a lot of racing. You have to be a little more careful, but it's not a big deal really.

I've ran skinnies on the street with several cars and even had them on daily drivers. Like stangrcr67 said its not a big deal at all and you cant beat the look of a nice set of welds. I wouldn't recommend 80 out the backroads with them because you'll feel the front end push a little bit at high speed but they're not that bad and i've never had any issue with it. If you're worried about not being able to stop in time just drive like you have a brain and don't ride on peoples bumpers. Chances are if you hit something you would have probably hit it regardless of wheel width. Of course this is just my opinion because i don't enjoy hauling ass on a curvy road I prefer a straight line dig race anyday.

We ran wide rears and skinny fronts back in the 70's/80's.

N-50-15's rear, (345/50-15) G-70 14's front.(225/70 R14) Never had issues.

Wet surface and I assume non-functional abs?. Hopefully he's ok. Lets look at an extreme example of an s550 in the snow, taking into account tire to surface adhesion and abs functionality. Insurance gonna deny the claim based on the tire on the front. Nope.

i don't daily my car, but I haven't had my stock wheels on for over a year. The car drives great with them on. I don't fly around corners or curves though. They are pretty close to the size of stock Volkswagen Bug tires.

At this exact second my regular wheels and tires are on due to a trip last month out of town. Ive been to lazy to put the drag pack back on. but i "daily" my skinnies. ( i work from home so 5k miles a year if im lucky with multiple trips to SoCal) I do drive a bit different with them. Not so much sliding around and stuff like i do with the 20's
