Off topic here, but I wonder if we can get android installed on this unit? Any software developers here? Haha the hardware will support it, we just need the sync app ported over and possibly the rear camera depending on how the system handles it. The apps are already coded for ARM processors.

What I don't seem to fully get is how the temp switches almost instantly, and there's a delay on the time

My time and temp update so quick, I usually don't even notice it. Strange how mine updates and others don't. Temp is there and the time updates within seconds.

The time updates once the unit locks GPS position i.e. based on how how quick the antenna finds a signal
So if you're in an underground parking then your time will be incorrect forever.

Ok, car is parked in my carport that's almost fully enclosed. When I do drive to work, I'm in a covered parking deck. No time issues whatsoever.

As long as your nav is working (which means you got GPS signal) your time will be fine

Most likely because temp is acquired by a sensor connected to the OBD system. It can grab that signal as soon as the car reports it.

So got my unit installed, pretty straightforward and an excellent upgrade. GPS Nextgen works flawlessly.

But, I have no radio signal. I don't recall uncoupling an antenna nor did I forget to plug something AFAIK. Nothing in the manual so before I take apart my dash again, any suggestions on what it could be?

Thanks!!

Edit: Duh never mind...forgot to connect the antenna to the CD unit.

A HUGE Shout out again X0AYHAM0X for stellar support. The guy was insisting on staying awake just to make sure I got my unit running perfect. And of course, his advice worked flawlessly. Thanks Again Ayham!!

Just wanted to chime in on NextGen... I got the program from X0AYHAM0X and updated using the USB method and everything worked flawlessly. I did remove the maps and voices I didn't think I would ever use just to make the update a little faster and save room on the default sd. X0AYHAM0X was great at helping with all my questions and responding very quickly. I think NextGen looks and feels smoother than the originally loaded Primo and my issue with delay in skipping songs seems to have gone away. I'm not sure if that's due to NextGen or the SD card having a little more room now. Either way just a nicer interface overall. Screenshots below.

I'm wondering if SAT radio if added, will it work?

AFAIK it can be done on the base cars (via APIM programming / upgrade) even without a dedicated SAT button. My curiosity is peaked and may do it just for sh!ts and giggles. :D

EDIT: Found this kit (p/n ARC-MFSAT357) which tells me SAT will work with this bezel: http://199.236.123.239/ARC12Volt/ProdDocs/ARC-MFSAT357 Install Manual 10.7.pdf

Adding SAT to a base radio thread: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30221

Too bad dealer sales only though... :-(
