My experience with power mirrors (non memory type) is that when they reach the end of their travel you get the clicking sound. Question, were the mirrors moving prior to hearing the sound?

Not even close.
Fixes the computers, but doesn't touch the car & truckster.

I could rebuild the motor in the family Truckster, I don't know the first thing about fixing computers.

I don't believe so, but then again I don't make a point of watching the mirrors move...you mean as I manually set them? I don't think it clicks once set. I just happened to hear the sound and then saw where it was coming from.

Mine has been weird many times. Once even showing that I needed to talk tot eh dealer cause lost communications with the head unit. I have a Repair Order in with the dealership now. So just waiting until the 25th to have it replaced.

I've also seen where the cable bundle to the trunk lid was either too long or too short and the cables were broken. That should be an easy one to take a quick look at.

Yep, me too. But not my problem to fix Might as well use my warranty while I have it.

My Mustang has been problematic too. Yesterday I popped the hood because the engine sounded weird, and it turns out it somehow lost four entire cylinders. So...that sucked.

The next time it happens see if the mirror is not adjusted to your normal view and make note of it. Any observations such as when and how long an event occurred would also be helpful to the dealership. If the backup display is still looking strange take it in.

CliffsNotes.......the seats and mirrors need sensors to determine their position, the "Car" can store position information (memory) for recall. When you activate the seat mirror recall the "Car" is comparing where the seats and mirrors are to where they need to be. My wife's car has seat and mirror memory, about twice a year it gets dementia and forgets who I am.

Liz, Some of our Company Ford cars have had issues with the backup camera. We have taken them in to the dealer and they do a reflash that clears the problem. As was mentioned earlier, there are computers that can get testy, once in a while so most of the time a reflash fixes them.

Cant you just unplug me then plug it back in?
Does the actual computer have a built in backup, or is that the reflash at the dealers?

Ford has this in their accessories catalog. Just need to find a ps2 to usb adapter.

Common mistake. It requires a PS2 to OBD2 adapter.
