They really get pissed when they find out your tuned premium Eco not only beat their stock base GT but was also thousands less. Win-win.
I have nothing against the ecoboost at all. But my wife's full bolt on Eco on 93 can not beat my stock gt. she gets the hit on me then my gt pulls away easily.

That was also a shop car so they were purposely pushing the limits, especially before TX2K. You can't go there without pushing to the limits and beyond. Even the tuner said he would never do the same to a customer's car. I think that should make you feel even better. For what you are looking for, a P1.5 kit should do the trick.

Reputable tuners these days cannot afford to ruin someones car. Even if they are not responsible the internet backlash would be too troublesome to take chances. People like to do trial in the court of public opinion so shops can't win if something goes wrong.
This made a lot of sense to me, and you are right the p1.5 kit is really where I want to be numbers wise. I'm getting braver minute by minute. I really love this platform. I actually decided to save the money from getting a GT and go with the Eco with intentions to tune it.

There's no denying that beautiful V8 exhaust note, Poppacap.
Danfish, I haven't been up against a S550 GT but I have ran against a '13-14 GT while in my E30 tune and I have no bolt ons. He instigated it so got the jump too but I reeled him in and stayed with him til I let off at triple digits. He didnt win, I didnt win...but he sure didnt pull away from me.

They are all fun cars either way. Like I mentioned above in the thread, I used to have a low 11second Eclipse AWD. Fun car.. but everything kept breaking on it... other than that... fun.

Is the power consistent all throughout rpm's, no drop off like it is stock?
Yes, its very consistent and has huge gains at lower RPMs. Torrie sets the shift points in the auto so when you hit the next gear, you are right in the sweet spot. Only complaint is from my neighbors with the exhaust and catless downpipe coming soon which they wont like. Good thing its not my daily driver.

Yes that dying out of nowhere up top is a big let down with this car lol but if a tune fixes it then I'm happy.
A tune won't fix the power drop on the topend but it sure helps alot.

This is also what I've been hearing directly from the tuners. The drop in power isn't tune related it's basically the ending limit of the turbo. With a bigger turbo, I believe the drop in power is fixable

That p1.5 kit with a catted downpipe is $3050. With tax it's $3300. That's a chunk of money. That leaves me without a powertrain warranty as well. And you'd still get smoked by a stock gt. Me personally I'll just keep that money and if I decide I need more power I'll put the $3300 as a down payment towards the gt. Or maybe the new camaro which is going to have the vette motor in it. To each their own though. I can see the appeal of having a quick 4 banger turbo. Maybe in a few years when prices become reasonable and my warranty is almost gone Ill consider tuning it.

Well you aren't the target audience then. Many of us prefer to modify our cars. If your 1.5 car gets smoked by a stock GT, your problem lies in the drivers seat though. They should run very close.

I would just get a 5858 kit, which is my personal plan, and bypass a 1.5 setup. Doesn't cost much more and the all around gain is huge. Both in power and sound.

I agree, my objective is not to be faster than a GT because personally if I wanted to be faster than a GT I would've bought a GT and around supercharger my idea of having a fun car that's daily driver is what I'm trying to achieve. For me a little bit more power a little bit more torque in a smoother transition into the drop of the power band when it's not as noticeable would really suck this car off and be perfect for me that's really what I'm looking for I really don't want 500 wheel horsepower and 500 wheel foot-pounds torque. I'm pretty sure with some decent mods maperformance was able to put down 330 horsepower and 400 foot pounds of torque this is probably the best scenario I could ever imagine for this car and that's exactly what I'm trying to target. And truthfully I never have A car passed owning it about 25,000 to 30,000 miles so if I could get the tune to simply last for 30,000 miles reliable and trouble-free for the most part and that is exactly what I am looking to do and I would be a very happy camper

I think that once you become ok with the fact that at the end of the day your car is still a 4 cylinder, you'll be much happier with it's performance (once you add a few things). I'm old. I've had fast cars. My buddy just spent a TON on his new GT and he got what he wanted: A VERY FAST CAR! My car isn't even in the same ballpark let alone the same game. But that's ok. He knows it and I know it. He's amazed at how quick my car is FOR WHAT IT IS and I'm scared to death when I'm in his!
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is don't buy this car if you think you're going to somehow turn it into a V8. Buy this car knowing that you'll have one of the best 4 cylinder turbo cars on the market. KUDOS to Ford and the aftermarket tuners (MAP) for making this little 4 banger a blast to drive!
By the way, I'd put my car up against any of my "FAST" cars from the 60's in a 1/4 mile. (Roadrunners, Dart GTS's, Chargers, etc.....

Just my .02

I'm perfectly fine with the fact it's a 4 banger. My mods include tint, sto n show license plate bracket, and premium fuel. I enjoy driving my car and getting 25mpg average while doing it. Got 30mpg on a 600 mile trip while driving it pretty hard at times. I'm more concerned with driving it to fun places and having fun in it than how I'm going to modify it. That's where most people go wrong. They are more worried about upgrading than they are driving.

There's no need to compare this car to cars from the 60s. It's perfectly capable of competing with modern day cars. People need to stop with the trying to be a GT stuff, it's just about unlocking all of the EBs potential. My car in no way feels like it's being stressed beyond its limits and I drive hard (at least 1 race a day ;)). Some ppl on here are just plain paranoid. These tuning companies have a lot of experience with these cars and great reputations to go with it, they will not do something to your car that will make it fall apart. If you're too scared to modify your car then don't. I'm already almost halfway through my 30k mile powertrain warranty with no issues and the car runs beautifully

This car is simply way more fun to drive when it's tuned and upgraded. Modding the car is a fun hobby and you get to know it a lot better. It'd be pretty boring to show up at cars and coffee or the drag strip with a completely stock car too
