My GT and my ( hoping early June delivery) are only weekend toys. So I will not be going with either. My 15 GT was bought in Nov of 14 and I just put 8k on it. The paint still looks brand new. Now if I were to be DD the cars I might consider it. I did go no stripes as if needing paint I wouldn't be out $ on replacing them also. Friend has a Z28 and I just didn't like the look of the EXPEL and the lines it left. Just my opinion.

Do you have any pictures of your older cars with it? I wanted to see how it looks a few years down the line
No - the only one is a 3-year-old white car, and you'd never see anything in the pictures. The Xpel still looks excellent, there has been no yellowing and the edges are just as "invisible" as they were when first installed. The car has been backed into twice by people who parked by feel, bending the front license plate bracket and pushing it into the bumper, but there was no damage to the Xpel or paint underneath. There's also about a 1.5-inch scuff in the Xpel on the top of the rear bumper where something was dragged across it. In both cases, had the Xpel not been installed, there would have been paint damage.

Ask André ( Derand ) on this site, he'll fix you up . He owns a esthetic car shop in Ottawa ans sells PPF for a good price. You'll just need to find an installer.

My opinion after researching the hell out of this topic: yes. All my cars get it. It's relatively cheap insurance.

Sent using the protocol module of my R2 unit.

This may not be a helpful point of reference, but I opted to go with a ceramic coat only, for $1300. For that price, the car was clay barred, extensively polished, and 3 coats applied in a sealed room with plenty of curing time. Car looks fantastic--like a very deep gloss wax--and the smooth finish is a real delight. Clean up and washing in the future should be a breeze, with no waxing needed (or recommended) for at least four years.

If rock chips are a primary concern, it's not worth arguing against PPF; that's what it does best. But if some level of decent abrasion protection (ceramic coating is very scratch resistant) plus the effect of a permanent gloss wax finish to the entire car is more of a priority (I for one do not like to wash and wax) then ceramic / nano coating may make more sense. It certainly did for me.

Which ceramic coating did you use? I'm looking at CQuartz myself. Still debating if I'm going to do the clear bra.

Found another installer who does mostly higher end vehicles. Priced out full front package, full hood (over stripes),roof, pillars, rear front fender flares, mirrors and lights. Also tinting 3 rear windows cs20%.All for $1700 plus tax. They are giving me my choice of expel ultimate (10 yr wty) or suntek (5 yr wty). They say the suntek is clearer (depending on the lighting the expel is slightly foggy) Anyone have a preference?

That's a pretty good price. Preference? Xpel. No one around here uses Suntek - don't know why. Don't forget to ask about a bodywork guarantee - free replacement of the film if you need body/paint work on a panel. BTW, are you getting the rocker panels done?

Thanks Dan and I can sell them the whole car for about 1500.00 Canadian dollars plus shipping they just need a installer that knows the business big dollars to be made seriously I know we do 3 to 4 cars a day at 700.00 to 3000.00 for a whole car.

My GT350 magnetic/ black ott stripe tech car should be arriving at my Kelowna BC dealer on April 1-6.I have a quote for $1500 to get expel ultimate on the front and entire hood. The people doing it want the car for 3 days and want me to take it straight to them. Ive never had this done on any car and have been fine using touch up paint however I heard the paint on the aluminum portion of this car chips rather easily.Im really on the fence about getting it done for a few reasons. 1.Chips on the front and hood will never rust. 2. I have a steady hand and do decent touch ups.3.There are several individual xpel pieces that need to go on the front and the hood portion goes on around the stripes leaving alot of xpel edges showing.4.Being without the car for three days is going to suck. Just wondering how many people are getting protection and how many are going naked?
If you are going to do your car do the whole hood at least in one piece not in sections don't need the template wrap it.Check my video's on how I did mine you tube need help let me know I can help N/C.

They are wright and don't worry about the warranty Suntek was bought out by Eastman Chemical that also owns LLumar Films and that
will change and I use all 4 makes now XPEL, Suntek, 3M, and now Hexis bodyfence.

So after reading every thread i can find on paint films i had it narrowed down to xpel ultimate and suntek.Correct me if I am wrong. The xpel will offer the superior stone chip protection as it is thicker. The xpel has a more aggressive adhesive so it is more labour intensive to remove when the time comes. The sunteck is clearer and glossier so it tends to look better. The sunteck is easier to apply usually resulting in a better application. Now i have to read up on Hexis bodyfence?? Thanks alot DERAND lol.
