Hi!

Getting very close to purchasing a new S550. Almost made a deal with Galpin Ford last night, but I ended up walking. Based on the info below, should I have taken the 0% deal??

Car:
2016 Mustang GT Premium - 400A - Performance Pack - Nav - MSRP $40,585

1st offer:
$40,666 OUT THE DOOR - but at 7.5% for 60 months...WTF?? Hell NO

2nd offer:
$43,486 OUT THE DOOR with 0% for 60 months...

Based on what I've seen on the forums it seems like people are getting MUCH better deals then this. Granted I am in California and the deals may be quite different then in the mid west/back east.

I would've done the deal if they offered the 0% at the $40,666 out the door price. Am i expecting too much trying to get the car for MSRP OTD with 0% financing? I have excellent credit and the next best rate after 0% was 3.5%...Not willing to pay that much interest.

Thanks for your time guys!

$500 below invoice, plus 0% for 60. $38,355 is the Invoice.

Accept nothing else. Even in CA, you can get this deal.

Galpin has a Black and Silver one at that price, and another Black one and (2) white ones incoming.

Thank you! Just the info I was looking for! Adding in the approx. 10% for TTL, car should be ~$41,640OTD.

Funny, my final offer last night was $42k OTD with 0% or I was gonna walk. He shook my hand and said "nice to meet you"

Guess I was dealing with the wrong guy at Galpin. This was on one of the newly arrived White cars (Stock#164859).

Invoice or below then add rebates on top. 0% financing can be had without an adjusted overall price on approved credit. It is offered by Ford credit not the dealer. Do not take a higher overall price just for that 0% because you can have 0% on approved credit at any pricing.

0% is in lieu of $500 in rebate.

dealers have their own rebate programs as well. my dealer also offers recently separated or current military rebates, along with current student or grad rebate. all these rebates can be used together. i am also trying to get the $750 brochure as well. so he should check his dealer website and see what kind of offers they have also. check your surrounding dealers as well.

Thanks for all the input guys. Galpin called today trying to save the deal, still couldn't get it to where I wanted.

My local dealer got me close enough to where I was comfortable. $41,800 OTD with 0% for 60 months on an identically equipped car with a $40,585 sticker price.

Time to order some parts!!

Sweet! Sounds like you got an awesome deal. I know going into it cars are a horrible investment. I personally like buying new and starting fresh.

Help me out with this "OTD" stuff. Is that essentially only applicable if you are putting $0 down on your purchase? Why else would someone finance sales tax over 48 to 72 months? I'm only asking because I feel like I'm missing something.

No it is just the final purchase price (out the door) regardless if you finance 100 percent or paid cash. It is also the stupidest way to compare prices as buyers in different states pay different taxes, registration fees, qualify for different rebates-ford alters rebates by region, taxation reduced by trade in in some states but not others. True comparison is the price of the car before all the potential reductions (which not all qualify for) but those looking to brag and make themselves feel big want to brag about their final price and are usually in low sales tax states so their final price is lower...duh.

Thanks for clarifying - that's what I thought... Personally, IDC what the OTD price is, as it doesn't carry any real significance - just like you said.

My negotiated price was $36,701, plus the BS processing and freight of $1,500 brings it to $38,200. Not bad IMO for a GT Premium + PP + 401A + Nav + Premium interior. Add in the $3,300 in State sales tax though and it seems like I'm paying MSRP...
