RPG doing mine in 12.1. I checked with tuner before hand and he said not a problem even on 93 he will just limit timing until I do E85.

I would never go lower then stock compression. This is a very high tech engine and not some old school Ford with shit flow design.

At some point loss of timing advance negates any gain from compression.
12 to 1 on pump gas with a blower is asking for trouble. Unless a gen 3

I’ll be running E85 90% of the time until winter. I won’t be on pump unless it’s winter time. Guess I didn’t word it correctly.

how is a gen 1 or 2 at 12:1 asking for trouble but a gen 3 ok?

I don’t doubt it. Maybe cap timing 1 or 2 degrees lower. I’m talking about the basic setup of 8-10psi.

at the end of the day anyone buying a mustang to add a power adder then building a motor to run pump 93 is asking for trouble…..and slow time slips.

So what’s your solution if you want to go fast on 93?

I’m assuming you’re joking since cars have gone sub-8’s on pure pump gas. Seriously, though, for folks wanting a fast car that runs on common fuel, what would be your advice? Surely not a camaro or challenger…
link to coyotes running 8s with boost and Nothing but 93…

I asked what your solution was if you want to go fast on 93. You said “you don’t”….except it has been done. I didn’t say coyote. So what’s your solution in a modern full-weight car?

The DI helps with detonation prevention.
The gen1 or gen2 can be just as safe as a gen3 with 12:1. It’s easier to have your tuner adjust the tune to safely run 93 with 12:1 then it is to change the compression ratio when you go e85
If you are planning to run 93 only then 12:1 on a gen1/2 is going to be more harm than good. But if are you planning on running e85 most of the time in then 12:1 is not a problem
