How does the boomba short shifter feel compared to an mgw or Barton?

I really like the short height and price of the boomba but am not sure it would feel as good or have as short throws as an mgw or Barton. Anyone tried both?

MGW is absolutely amazing, best shifter on the market. I wouldn't have a shifter that utilized any parts from the stock shifter.

After trying a car with a Barton shifter several months ago I decided to pass on any changes... Then I had the opportunity to try a MGW shifter this Monday and damn. That's likely my next upgrade now. Smooth as butter, great feel through the gates, and no excessive spring feel.

I love my Boomba with the steeda bracket. So comfortable.

I've had the Barton for some time. Certainly a good upgrade over stock. Mine is set with the 25% reduction. I've recently heard some great reports about the MGW. Honestly I'm waiting for the transmission to puke its guts out so I can get a good one. With all the upgrades and Royal Purple fluid it's still disappointing.

Any other associated hardware upgrades to be used when switching to the MGW shifter?

I'd also like to have a heavy shift knob.

I vote MGW also. Best mod I have put on the car! I used the factory knob adapter and speed dawg shift knob threaded all the way down and it is noticeably shorter in height than the factory setup. I also prefer the push down reverse lockout with no plastic parts to wear out.

How tight is the mgw? My friend has one in his camaro and it's very tight. I'm hoping they will eventually come down in price. I put royal purple synchromax trans fluid yesterday and it made a huge difference in smoothness

It's not tight to me at all. I put RP synchromax and a steeda transmission bushing along with the MGW. It shifts extremely smooth and I have never missed a shift with it. The MGW is by far the best mod that I have done.
