How is the boot going to be secured to it like the factory shifter surround?

. That seems like it may be a huge hassle once that area heats up and softens the adhesive tape. I think it will come loose with time.

You could also connect it with a decent adhesive if nothing suitable is included.
I suspect there will be automotive grade double-sided tape underneath when it is delivered. I wouldn't worry about the durability.

The part from the GT350 is more interesting to me because it matches the other shiny parts (cupholder, sync, ventilation control...) while removing that SYNC lettering.
