Not sure if this is the right forum or not but.... :)

On my '16 GT 6speed, it has the Ford Performance short shifter. I love it. But the chromed plastic neck of the boot rattles on the shaft and drives me insane. If I adjust it so it doesnt rattle, by tightening down the nut, then it wont go into reverse. If I adjust it WHILE in reverse, itll rattle. Im wondering if its missing some kind of spring or some other part that might keep it from rattling and vibrating? Any other tips to keep my sanity?:frusty:

I've had this problem too after installing a Tri-Ax. Apparently there's a white nylon washer that sits in the space between the threads of the shift knob and the shaft shoulder that comes factory - except apparently it didn't on mine and it's not sold separately.

I've tried a couple of things (new knob, small o-rings, etc) some that fix it but don't last, and others that last but don't fix it.

Really annoying.

I had the same issue after installing the FR short throw shifter. I just installed the Barton aluminum reverse lockout collar and the vibrating noise is gone. The Barton has on o-ring installed inside the collar. A slightly expensive fix at $50 but having that plastic vibrating noise gone was well worth it.
