I was installing the kit this weekend and everything fit fine until I got to the E brake. I installed the boot and its to tight and pulling my E brake handle up, Its very tight. So I took it off and tried 4 different fits in order to get it to fit properly and it was always to tight? The piece is much smaller than the factory boot. Anybody have this kit installed, any tips or tricks?
Thanks

Yup. Same here. I provided all the details and pics to them. My first try, my only issue was the tension down the top side along the seam was sooo tight, the brake handle would not stay down all the way. They s ent me a second boot. I used steam to stretch the seam along that back side. Also be careful and not attach it too far on the frame. I just barely glued the edge of the boot along the frame to leave as much free material as posssible for length. Hope that made sense. My second to was still super tight, but better. The short material does make for a neat looking install when done. My boot is still super tight when the brake is released (handle down) but it has started to settle in and the handle will stay all the way now. Now that it’s over, I’m extremly happy with the kit. I think it transforms the appearance of the interior.

Only other thing I wish I had done different was put a thin pad layer under the console lid piece instead of attaching directly to the frame.

I had it barley holding on the edges and it still was pulling off? What did you use a steamer to help it expand? I was trying to think of ways to get the thing to stretch and couldn't think of anything. Do you feel as though the steam helped?
I also did the Barton one piece lock out for the shift boot as otherwise you have to glue the boot to the lockout. Did you glue it or use the one piece Barton?
I have a Email into Shiftech so I hope they will send me a larger one.

They sent me a second one, but it was the exact same size. Maybe if you complained about the same problem I did, they’ll get the hint. I just held it over a boiling pot of water to get the steam. Turned it inside out so the steam was hitting the inside material and not directly against the alcantara. Get it hot and then stretch it by hand lengthwise on that seam. It helped a tiny little bit, but not major enough.

I just reused the stock lockout. I did a little homewok for a lockout but didn’t run across anything. Probably shoulda got that one. Oh well.

Yeah. Pretty disappointed in the kit. I ended up ordering a set from redline with 1.5” excess material. Have yet to install but the quality is definitely there. Nothing but frustration from Shifteck. Did not even bother attempting the console. Should have just went redline the first time. Would have saved time, money and frustration. Lesson learned.

Never heard of the red line kit. With the rather minor exception of the fit on the parking brake boot, there’s nothing wrong with this kit at all, and the material/color is a great match. Gotta say, hands down the first time I’ve ever heard anyone bash ShifTeck.

Not necessarily a kit but I got the set from redline goods. Since I own both now I can tell you there is an obvious difference. The Shifteck quality is nice but it wouldn’t kill them to give a little more material. Just my opinion of course. It should fit. Not barely fit, gotta steam it, force it to make due fit. The stock one clearly fits. If the Shifteck one did there would not be multiple folks with the same issue. When I ordered from redline I used that experience and ordered it with 1.5” extra for a few bucks more. Take it for what it’s worth. Not bashing but honest. Good thing though is Shifteck has it all under warranty. The silver lining to being pissed off about your console being torn apart due to it not fitting and you order another that fits while they offer tips to make it it. Key words “make it fit”

They copy everything from everyone and cheap poor quality.
Run.

Other than the E brake boot not fitting I had no trouble at all and feel the color match is great. I also have their X pipe which am pleased with.
I have a Email into them now we will see what they have to say about this issue.

I ordered this kit from redline last June or so and tried to install it recently when I did my central console work. Well, I had the same problem as OP mentioned from shifteck. I worked with redline and provided them the correct measurements and they made me a new e-brake boot that now fits. Hopefully they updated their templates now (last summer they were wrong).

Guess we’ll agree to disagree. Oh, and their customer service is top shelf. Also have resonator delete whic is a great piece. Lots of folks have it with zero issues.

They got back to me this morning but all they said was try to stretch it out and steam it? So I tried that and it is still a terrible fit, and now the seam has ripped from applying it so many times. He said we will go from there so I have another email out to them. This is getting ridiculous, I shouldn't have to go through so much trouble to get this fit. The boot is now looking ragged as I applied it 5 times. I dont know if I should just order the red line E brake? I am just worried they wont match up in color, which will bother me and I paid for a product that doesn't fit.. Everything else installed fine.

They should be making good on their product and taking care of your issue. If not then could hinder future sales of that product. Just my opinion.

Well I have gone 2 weeks now without word from Shiftech about the Ebrake boot and I have steamed and stretched for hours, IT doesnt fit the Ebrake handle without pulling it up. They made it to small and I have now broke the bracket that it attaches to trying to stretch it. I am done with trying to make it fit, They wont return my emails or calls so I am ordering the Redline kit and I recommend you guys do the same. Its Junk IMO and then to have them tell you need to stretch it and steam it what a joke. Do yourselves a favor and buy the Redline kit, I wish I did. NO MORE SHIFTECH PARTS FOR ME.
