SVT went to VMP to film them testing a heat shield under the intake manifold. I read about it on their site stating that it provides protection from heat from the top of the engine. anyone had any experiences with this before?

what ever it takes to make a buck! The advantages are negligible.

It's s good idea. However it's more of a benefit at a stand still.

When the car is moving the intake manifold will stay cool.
You mean the air traveling through will be cool? I've wrapped intake pipes and seen an improvement in IATs since it helps keep the intake pipe from getting warm.

Gains are minimal but it's something.
